  • Ponder Away

I love questions I don't really have to answer. For all you fans of the "just think about me because i'm so damn deep but yet so simple" questions, here's a good one:

Why can white women have black babies, but black women can't have white babies?

the one-drop rule (drop of blood that is)

What do you do when you see an endangered animal eating an endangered plant?

Why do some women have to die during childbirth?

(maybe i should stay away from the ironic questions, they might beat the purpose of the thread. eh)

I am confused about the purpose of this thread.

That said, I wonder why, usually, people who have an accent when they speak don't have one when they sing.

Here's one that always made me ponder. How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?

If I remember correctly, the mother of Maurice Barthélémy - the French movie director - is black; but he's caucasian: no African physical features!

Did I understand the question correctly?
What if I find someone else when looking for you? My soul shivers as the idea invades my mind.

In that case, is the mystery solved?

I'm almost sure that his mother is black from the Antilles!

dude, there's no mystery. even if the person doesn't look black. as soon as he says there's a drop of black blood in him, then he's considered black by society (hence the one-drop rule).

the reason i typed the question is because it gets us thinking about how society thinks and things like that, not because i was really wondering about what's black or white. it's just strange how when a child has a drop of white blood, the child is still black. but when he/she has a drop of black blood, he's automatically black (even if he/she doesn't look it).
