It depends on the washing machine. Most washing machines take the same amount of time but it really all depends on their make. Some models you can choose how long you want them to wash and dry for. I would say anywhere from 300 minutes to 45 minutes for washing (keep in mind that it usually goes through the wash and clean- rise cycle twice) and anywhere from 25-30 minutes for drying, depending on the amount you put in. Denim always takes a while cause the material is thicker. So, if you arent in a rush I would say let them air dry for about 10 minutes and then throw them in the dryer to speed things up.
20 mins to wash, 3 hours to forget you were supposed to put it in the dryer, 65 mins dryer, 6 hours to forget to take it out of the dryer. Total is about 10 to 12 hours for me per load (ok I'm no math genius either).
1 hour to wash, 1-2 days to dry if you hang them up indoors (do this especially with clothes you care about! You don't want the dryer to ruin them), less than 2 hour in the sun for thin clothes, a little longer for thick clothes, about 1 hour to dry in the dryer if you don't pack the machine and have mostly underwear and towels. If your clothes are still steaming after you take them out of the dryer, hang them up, they'll dry in minutes.
Thanks for your help (everyone but mouse), I ended up asking my mother that morning and doing it while I got ready. Finished right in the nick of time! I was so worried I'd have nothing to wear, but in the end I looked goood.
