Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • I Know Everyone Can Relate To This

I just got home after a loooong day at school, and my mom and sister told me to take a look at my phone bill. Now, I never talk on the phone, so I knew I didn't go over my minutes, so I was wondering why. I can use up to 500 text message, and I went over and used around 1,500. Now I owe $116 just for text messaging and $186 total! I mean, I'm at school with long breaks, I get bored. I'm in 2 and a half hour classes, I get bored. I text people, people text me - it helps me get through my day. Same with work. But, daaaaaaaamn. I was angry, and I just started working, and there goes all my money. Before I can even save up for stuff I want/need, I gotta throw it to text messaging! I know a lot of people who get charged for a couple hundred bucks for their minutes, but mine would never be this high. But I can see why. It sucks. I'm mad, lol. I feel like canceling my phone. Either that or I gotta get another job, but I'm already busy as hell as it is. Only free time out of the week is Sundays. Every other day I'm working or at school - the whole day.

    I needed to vent.

I will never feel sorry for anyone that sent 1500 text messages in a month.... that's like 50 a day. Sounds like you need instant messaging on your phone (Internet) instead of SMS... it might be a lot cheaper that way.
    this post = teh win.

Don't wanna feel sorry for me? Lol, that's fine. It's just that during school, I'm there from 8am-10pm. You know, there's not a lot to do when you're at a new school where you have little friends. And the friends you have aren't in your classes and you don't see them during your breaks.

And for work, I'm there from 3pm-9pm. Just sitting back, literally, and watching workers work on our school projects. I'm supposed to be supervising, but I spent last night reading "Curious George" out of bordem.

I am sooooooo tempted to do one of those "When I went to school ... " speeches but I promised myself I'd never do that when I got to be "old"

I refuse to own a cell phone. It's worked out pretty good for me so far.

1500 text messages is a pretty large number...

Do you happen to go to a really "on-the-cutting-edge" type of school where they offer wi-fi, or any other type of wireless connectivity for wireless laptop users?

If so then get a laptop and wi-fi or wireless card and IM ppl all day w/o spending a dime ... except for matriculation fees of course!

Perhaps an easier solution is to pay for unlimited text messaging in your existing cell phone plan. Then you could get one of those mini keypad IM pager dealies that all the rappers have. Attach it to your belt like a fanny pack and you're good to go!

I used to be in school as much as you. That's no excuse to text message a thousand people. Your excuse is similar to those fools who watch MTV and always complain of boredom. Sit down, read a phucking book, or read the book for your class that was assigned. People who complain of "boredom" while they clearly have alot of shyt to do I cannot sympathize with. So from now on you know that earning money is a hard thing and it doesn't fall to you, and I hope you prioritize your cell phone usage.

A book? There's only so many books you can read. You expect me to read every second while I'm on my long breaks. I'm not saying I'm texting/calling people left and right, but people text me and that charges too. My bill said I had more received texts than send texts. I told people to chill out and stop sending so many, but shiiit, everyone's against me here.
