Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)
1] What you CAN NOT post.
You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene
You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)
The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!
2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.
This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.
3] Keep the focus.
Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.
4] Behave as you would in a public location.
This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.
5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.
Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.
6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.
Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.
7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.
- PLEASE READ -
Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.
8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)
If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Bay-beeee! Pobresito...I'm alittle late to offer "immediate" help, but I hope your mommy is doing well. The gang already said most of it, but all I can say is make her feel comfy and let her get checked out....Just don't panic my love...keep it cool, and above all: don't start with all the crazy remedies that everyone tells you about. Let her go about her regular habits without exhausting herself...don't have her drinking gallons of cranberry juice or anything like that.
I send your mother wishes of health...and i will include her in my prayers...sleep tight!

The things I've seen this past week will scar me forever.
Ever since finding out she has the stones on Tuesday, she passed out once and almost passed out after that. Everytime she passes out, the world just freezes. It's like - I don't want to say this but this is the only way to say it - watching her die for a second. She just knocks out and won't wake up. All because of the extreme pain. When that happens, I'm too shocked to even cry. I just lose myself and run to my room or somewhere to be alone and pray. Everyone else just throws water at her and tries to wake her up.
Last night around 1:30am, I was about to fall asleep when I heard her scream. I stayed in bed for about 10-15 minutes and kept hearing her scream. I knew my dad and sister were by her. I just stayed in bed, just hoping it would end. It just got worse. I went by her, and by dad told my sister to call 911 again. In the end, we went and she wasn't let in until 3:30am. They didn't do anything. By the time she was let in, her pain cooled off, and she just rested for 1 and a half hours.
Right now, I just got home from work, hoping she would be ok but she wasn't. She was cringing in pain with a bunch of my family members around her. All of a sudden, she knocked out again. This time, it seemed bad, 'cause she just fell to the floor instead of laying back. This was a long one too. Anyway, she woke up and now she's still in pain. I can't take this anymore. The doctors can't do anything, they just said, "The stones will pass in time."
I don't see it passing at all. She keeps passing out, that's not a good thing. Seeing that is like, killing me inside. I don't know what I'll do if I see it again.
She's supposed to go see a Ureologist (can't spell it) on Monday. Just pray for her.

Kidney stones often do not cause any symptoms. Usually, the first symptom of a kidney stone is extreme pain, which occurs when a stone acutely blocks the flow of urine. The pain often begins suddenly when a stone moves in the urinary tract, causing irritation or blockage. Typically, a person feels a sharp, cramping pain in the back and side in the area of the kidney or in the lower abdomen. Sometimes nausea and vomiting occur. Later, pain may spread to the groin.
If the stone is too large to pass easily, pain continues as the muscles in the wall of the tiny ureter try to squeeze the stone along into the bladder. As a stone grows or moves, blood may appear in the urine. As the stone moves down the ureter closer to the bladder, you may feel the need to urinate more often or feel a burning sensation during urination.
If fever and chills accompany any of these symptoms, an infection may be present. In this case, you should contact a doctor immediately
by the way...one, did they ever take any x-rays?

As I said, bro, it's just a very painful thing. After it's gone, life will return to normal. She'll probably joke about it later.
Also, have you guys made her take a hot (really hot) bath. I told you it helped me tremendously.

Well.. After I posted that message, something worse happened. So, her pains usually last for about 30 minutes, right? This big pain she had today had lasted for 3 hours or so. She kept telling us she didn't wanna go to the hospital 'cause honestly, they didn't do anything for us. The stone was 3mm in size and they said it's not big enough for them to try and crush it or anything.
After a while, her pains got worse. It was at it's peak today. I started getting heated and got mad, and told my aunts and dad that we should take her in. My mom finally agreed to it. So the ambulance guys come, right? These guys are morons - the fire department people who help you take the person to the hospital. Alrite, so they came up and started doing what they do. They hooked my mom up to one of those machines where it has the lines; where it does flatlines and whatnot. Those scare the hell out of me. They were looking at certain levels or whatever. All of a sudden, she fainted. This is like, the fourth time since Tuesday. Seeing that, is like.. I can't begin to describe it.
My sister snapped and was like, "Do you see what's going on? Why aren't you guys doing anything?" One of the guys yelled back and said we need to calm down because it isn't life threatening, and they closed the bedroom door on us. I yelled back and said my mom keeps fainting every few minutes, and I don't give a fuuuuuck if it's life threating or not, I don't wanna see her passed out next to one of those life machines. We yelled back a little bit, and I just couldn't take it, so I ran out crying. I just had to cool off.
Whatever, in the end we took her to another hospital. They gave her morphine, tried giving her some calcium; but she threw it up. Thank God, they let her stay over night. I didn't want her to come back home, none of us did. 'Cause seeing her like that has mentally scarred me. I hope she'll be ok. They said the stone was coming closer to get out. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
And karoaper; a lot of people suggested the bath, but my mom couldn't move. She was so weak, she couldn't even open her eyes, or do anything. Putting her in a hot bath would knock her out again and I don't see the good in that.
Thanks for the help though, we'll see tomorrow.
