                  Religion cannot be separated from the man (i.e. human). I believe this is true whether you believe religion is manmade or divine, because it is practiced by man. And as usual the man xxxxs up almost everything he touches. As humans we will infuse our hard-to-resist instincts of fear and competition and greed into everything, including religion, even if it teaches the very opposites of these instincts, which unfortunately in some cases it doesn't.

                  So, there are many conflicts and idiosyncrasies concerning religion, including the ones you named.
