Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

It's scariest to me not only when things like this happen to people I knew, went to school with, etc., but when it's totally random like that and they didn't do anything to contribute to it because that's when it's easiest to imagine that it can happen to us or those closest to us.

Sorry, One-way. This is exactly why DUI is a big deal. Did the driver live? I don't know yet if I think it's a good or bad thing that the alcohol loosens these idiots up enough to be more likely to survive the crash. They don't get the sentences they deserve and I'm not entirely confident that having to live their lives knowing they killed someone is troubling enough for someone who doesn't value their life or anyone else's enough to not get in the car and drive in the first damn place.

The drunk driver was with two friends during the crash. His two friends were killed, the driver survived. He's now in jail.

He's in jail, though. You could say that's a worse punishment. Dying, he gets off to easy. That's how I look at it anyway.

it really bothers me, often I meet people who say, no matter how much they drink they are still ok to drive, and are surprised when I refuse to get in a car with them. I don't care how much you think you are OK to drive, you shouldn't drive.
It's the family of those innocent people that suffers in the end.

I guess you are right, being in Jail is worse off then him being dead.

I can drive normal after I drink, but I don't do it.

After some things that have happened, I've changed a lot of my actions.

Tomorrow's the funeral. A lot of people are going to show up. R-Mean, if some of you know him, will be there, too. This guy was loved. Everybody knew him as one of the nicest guys ever.

Why am I at work, on a Sunday?

I'm not gonna vent, but instead, I'm gonna [insert word which is opposite of vent here].

Friday night, I went to my sister's friend's birthday party. I was my cousin, my sister, and my sister's boyfriend. It was a bunch of people older than me, but it was still cool. Bunch of people knew me, I was like, "Right." Saw my sister's friend's cousin, who I knew. Supposedly, she liked me in the past, but I never thought anything of it. And now, I'm thinking I like her, but she was with some guy. Then I heard she was disappointed I didn't talk to her much, and that the guy she was with was a friend. Nothing else. We'll make that work later.

Came home at 3:30. Woke up for work at 6:30. Worked until 2:30, then went down to my new shop in Sunset, and worked there - installing the new computers. Came home around 6. Hung out with my family and my sister's boyfriend, then took a shower. Left to my sister's boyfriend's house around 9. Started drinking straight shots and watched Saw. It was us three, and the brother of the boyfriend and his friend. Drank a good amount, ate some pizza. My sister got drunk and started feeling real bad. Night was a drag. Got home around 2. Woke up at 8 for work. Now I'm here!

                    Stupid manager.

Next Wednesday, my sister, her friends, my cousin, and I, are all going to another private screening of "Borat". And on Wednesday's, I work, and I have to close at 6, because my manager leaves at 5 for "school". So I told him today if he can close, because I had something to do, and he was like, "No. You can't mess with my Wednesday's. I need to go to school." For some reason, we think he's not at school when he says he is, but even so, he's gotta cover when needed. Regardless of reason. I cover for him so many times for nothing. I never ask for days off, or leave early.

Oh, well. Worth a try. He'll be covering me next month when I go to Vegas. I ain't messing with his Wednesday then. I'm messing with his precious Sunday!

                    • Re: The Vent Thread

I'm upping this thread because for once, since 2006, I want to vent! I'll make it short and sweet.

I got in a car accident on May 24. It took over a month for the insurance agents to get an approval for the body shop's estimate -- $10,000. The lady who hit me, her insurance is paying. The agent told me I could get a rental and once I did, he told me I actually can't because she's only covered up to $10,000. There's no room for a rental.

I kept the rental because we had already paid for a week. In my apartment, I was using a parking space which one of the tenants rented to me. He's not a tenant, actually, he's apart of the Homeowners Association. He took away my spot because his son came back into town. Because of this, he gave me permission to park in any guest parking.

Today, my car was towed because it was parked in handicap parking. Anyway, we're not sure who towed it but we're pretty sure it was another member of the association. Now, I have to pay $200 to get a RENTAL back. I was so furious because I'm allowed to park there! And it's not as if we have any guests/handicap people in our building. We have 3-4 guest parking spaces and they make a big deal when we occupy them with our own cars. We do this for a few hours when we know we're gonna leave really quick.

BUT I WAS ALLOWED TO PARK THERE!!

I'm paying tomorrow but they'll be paying me back. It's not about the money, it's about sticking to your word.
