I have kin down in Alabama who, when we were younger told me that if it snowed, the schools were closed. ...Can't really blame those southern states, I mean, they don't have the means to fight the cold as we do up here and if there was no plows or no salt trucks, we'd be just as screwed as they are no matter how little the snow.
Ah yes...gotta love those "too cold to snow" days.

One of my roommates had a 4x4 pathfinder and chains, so we could get around without too much trouble (and give rides to the poor saps who tried to drive without winter-driving experience.)
