Mouse, certainly getting the tenure can be a struggle, but it's also certain that those, who have a tenure at a university they enjoy working at, are truely lucky folks. A tenured faculty position combines career stability with the joy of making an impact on young minds, working in peace on interesting research and being around a college culture, which is more enlightened than most. The only downside to the academic career is dealing with snobs and fakes who are often the same people.

Exactly why someone in that position would have all the incentive to hold on to it, which creates a saturdated market, as these positions become lifelong positions held by the people in question. Who wouldn't want to be in that atmosphere? I think it's awesome, but perhaps for another lifetime if at all.

Aiming to be a millionaire is not high enough? Haha

This is a service. Although, I could considering donating my services and take a tax deduction.

              They've gotta retire though.
If you're good you can get those few openings at the best universities, but you certainy could get a position as law faculty at one of the 1000s in California.

Just get on law review and do a good job. That's a good way to start. I do plan on "founding" a journal if you'd like to write for it.

There is no such thing as a dream job...unless your getting paid to do your favorite hobby.
