Crimson, many of us were teased badly for being Armenian. I had no friends all through kindergarden in Russia. The kids all were Russians, and hated me for being "dark". I was ignored and called a gypsy. Every morning I cried and pleaded with my mom not to make me go.

That is just one example, there were more things... Dont let these experiences haunt you. You are stronger because of them.

even if you lived in Armenia they would still laugh at you and call you names just for not being born in Armenia, I remember my sisters and I were always called Ruski's cause we spoke Russian and barely understood Armenian. I think that no matter where you are people are going to always pick something different about you and harrass you for it. Thats why clicks exist in schools....its sad really.

and about the name thing, there is this small local place that always has some great bands perform but when you go inside if you're under 21 they make you sign your name..i hate that, i dont see the point to it so I always write weird names like Anna Karenina or Sylvia Plath...or something completly random

Ummm....ok, people. That was a joke. See....it was more a criticism of Armenians being closed minded, not crying over people taking a shot at us for being/"not being" Armenian. I...thought that was pretty evident. I haven't lived around any Armenians in order for people to have an opinion about it. In fact, everyone that meets me thinks I'm just an average American kid. Well...till they see the name. And even THEN, it seems the possibility of me being from a "foreign" ethnicity doesn't seem to cross their minds, as they'll make comments like "what the?? Your parents didn't like you, did they"? It just blows my mind how ignorant people around here are. You go 40 minutes SW and hit Chicago, and it's the white people that are the minorities. My...what a difference a few miles make.

Just because you've had a bad experience?

Let me tell you something. In elementary school and middle school my mom packed my lunch alot. I was Armenian I got harassed alot for different things. One time this kid made fun of me for the food my mom packed (dolma). We were all sitting at the lunch tables. You know what I did? I got up, I went up to him, and I punched him. He shut up after that and never said anything.

I'm glad to hear that you did not throw the dolma at him; that would have been the waste of a good thing!
