Re: Muammar Gaddafi and Libyan crisis
Bombing the single most important state institution is a great way to bomb a country back to the Stone Age. But more importantly, it is a great way to make money for the Defence Industry. Those weapons that Ghazafi is losing will all need to be replaced once his government is toppled.

Re: Muammar Gaddafi and Libyan crisis
It depends. Invasions are hard to sell these days to the Arab World so what they did was make sure the 2nd biggest circus in the world (after Cirque du Soleil) the Arab League supports this so they can just bomb it and hope for the best. Invasion will happen if these airstrikes don't get the desired results which is Ghazafi's ousting, implanting a puppet government and then privatisation of oil. The last step is an invasion itself.Originally posted by KanadaHye View PostWhat, you think that they are just going to bomb the hell out of the place then leave? lol

Re: Muammar Gaddafi and Libyan crisis
Well for now they are bombing military facilities and taking out Libyan air defence.Originally posted by Federate View PostYou're right it's worse. Invasions are too expensive and require a lot more planning. Much simpler to arm and support Libyans to kill other Libyans, all the while bombing the country back to the Stone Age.
They are going to bomb Gadaffi military targets, until either he leaves or the rebels take over.Originally posted by KanadaHye View PostWhat, you think that they are just going to bomb the hell out of the place then leave? lol

No country is preparing to do a full scale land invasion of Libya like US did in Iraq. Plus you nations such as France taking the lead.

Happy anniversary Iraqis! At least you now have something in common with Libya other than being Arab and having tons of oil.

They just want the oil to keep flowing - they will pay a lot for this.
