I don't think it's very likely that life is restricted only to our tiny planet in such an enormous universe. I don't necessarily mean "little green men". The Mars Rover found evidence of previous atmospheric conditions that could have sustained certain bacterial life. I think they also found evidence of once-existing glaciers or evidence of water (not sure). Under the right conditions, microscopic life forms could begin to emerge if they have not done so already. As far as the role of God, I'm on the fence. Tell me what you think.

And there is a intriguing theory that consciousness may have arisen from a parallel universe (by Adair Buthchin).He suggested that constants such as mathematics, ethics, love and compassion could have been seeded into our realm, possibly by advanced intelligences that inhabit other universes ...or something like that..i read about it long time ago
