Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

    If you haven't been able to do it, that should be a good hint to you that maybe it can't be done. By the way, that problem is not as trivial as it looks so don't expect a 1 line answer. You have to think it out ...

      Both of them can be answered. Whether they can be connected is another question. =)

        I fixed ckBs solution a bit, since she was tired of taking pictures . Nice ckBejug, there is a little logician in you I see! Is this what you have Seap?

        So the first problem cannot be done? I was thinking in very simple terms I must admit, hoping to cheat the system a little. I figured that the distance between each in a set a,b, c is equal to the set of points in 1,2,3 they form a perfect 360 degrees. Thus if you connect them all in a rectangular shape, in essence they will all be connected to each other. Wouldn't it be wonderful if it was that simple?

          I agree with no answer for #1- we have to draw nine lines and there is no way to do that, even if you use circles and squares, you end up with only 8 possible lines and the ninth one will always interesect something... right?

          As for your answer for #2- the new line you put in intersects one line in two places....

          I know who's going to marry the daughter!!!! =) This better be right... (Don't highlight and read it if you don't want to know yet what I think the answer is!)

          The King will want the third son to marry his daughter…. Why? Think about it… The oldest son will still have his mirror through which he can see anywhere in the world, and the second son will still have his horse that will take him to anyplace in the world in one day… But the third son, he gave up his father’s gift to him… the apple…. He wont have it anymore because she ate it to get better.. That sacrifice means he gets to marry her….

                Yup ... the bottom right line segment is intersected twice.


                Don't highlight the reply below ... EVER: ... and the little line segment in the middle (to the left) is still untouched.

                The problem said the apple will never rot. Once the princess is "done" with it, it should still be good as new with a bit of cleaning. So the third guy is still ok. ok sorry for this but that's sometimes how you have to read the riddles.

                  I'm wondering if problem #1 can be solved with adding an extra point x in the center, which will connect all of the points without intersection of the lines? Can you add a variable, or are we restricted? I know I am reaching here...

                    I know the apple will never ROT. The thing is, she didn't just hold on to the apple. She ATE it. The riddle never says the apple will regenerate once it's been eaten. Nooope. It will just never get rotten. Once it's eaten up, it's eaten up and it can't be used again.... I think I'm right.
