Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

    Da Vinci Code

    In the climatic parts of the book " The Da Vinci Code" I have come to notice a simple flaw in the whole idea of this message, and the flaw is admitted to by the research done by Dan Brown himself (the author of the book).. though this book is filed under "non-fiction" it has many pieces of accurate information.. but not all of it is.. so it cannot be non-fiction. here is one simple flaw I have time for now to discuss..

    The research done on the painting of the last supper portrait reveals a woman being on the right side of Jesus, and that woman apparently was not there in the post 1954 era.. why>? well the book states that "many of the photographs of the artwork were taken before 1954 when the details were still hidden under layers of grime and several 'restorative' repainting done by clumsy painters...now finally it has been cleaned down to Da Vinci’s original layer of paint and restored".. now this makes me ponder the thought of the painting in fact being impaired in its originality to impose these images to further make falsifying claims against Christianity, and show that Jesus is not a divine being, which would make non-Christians the happiest people on earth, and make it simple to show that Da Vinci has "hidden" messages.. this is a very suspicious account.. Which is why the media has not indulged itself into this matter.. it stands with to much contradiction and questions asked and answered in to many coincidental occasions...

    I think having a spell check option on this site would not be too bad.

    Also, there was a special on ABC a while back about this ... and one of their theories is that the Christian church has been systematically underplaying the role women have had in the development of the Christian faith ... basically the men took over and shut the women up and threw them aside as those beneath men. It may well have been that Mary Magdalene was Jesus's most devout follower and deciple yet she has been portrayed as a prostitute, a low life, etc etc

    I actually think it was very likely there was a woman in Jesus's life and she was right at his feet when he was taking his last breath on the cross. It's just a shame that the church has chosen not to acknowledge the importance of women in the faith and to not allow them to become equal participants as the men

      Well, I woudln't be surprised, the Christianity we beleive in is probably pretty off from the original intended version.

        NOW.. you are mistaken, the new testament does not make women less superior in the church as men. the book is wrong for claiming so. They are using quotes out of context to prove their point which is not a correct way of doing so. The Da Vinci Code claims Mary Magdalene was not only a (or the most) devout follower of chriust, but she was his wife, and they have had a daugter together, and infact.. it goes to the extremes of claiming that there is a heritage and a family geneolgy which is tracable (and claimed to be trraced) to this day in age. Now, this is very comfortable of a claim to make for people who would like to see nothing more than the devinity of Jesus christ undermined.. To many fundamental errors in the claim they make. And infact what they claim fails for christianity can exactly work to fail there beleif as well.. IF it is speculated that the paintings and original documents were changed and fixed, then it could be the same for them. anywho.. thats not the point. Mary Magdalene is said to be the wife of christ.. this is very convinient for them to show Jesus was a great MAN not a devine being.. ill write more later.. must go to work, boss walked in haha.. shhhh noone tell him

            It's not about not being able to spell or being perfect ... it's about rereading your post at least once before hitting reply.

            Cade? wuthr? ook? peices? resotred? thauhg tof? earht? chriust?

            Come on! I know you can spell those.

            I'm not even talking about "suspicouse", "empose", "tracable", "trraced", "convinient" ...

              Gevo you are assuming that everything in the book is supposed to be fact. Are you also going to complain now that Langdon or whatever his name is a fabrication?

              Why is it so hard to believe that cleaning up an old painting could help make the feminine features of "Mary Magdalene" clearer?

              I don't think it's above the church at all to have made her a xxxxx.
              The church is not above lies and corruption and that's never been a secret.

              And PLEASE proofread your posts. Don't just get upset that people point out your poor typing. It's annoying to read. As a courtesy to the other posters would it be too much to ask to just reread it?

                  I fixed things up a bit so that everyone can stop whining. Gevo I would suggest typing your longer posts in Word first to eliminate the most basic common mistakes. That’s what I do, since I am not really a good speller. It’s understandable that in the heat of the moment when you are trying to express yourself in the most concise way it’s hardly an issue when you miss to type the first letter. And on a different note, the book just further exposes the corruption of authorities, regardless of their belief system; nothing is exempt from the greed of humanity. You cannot expect a system, in this case Christianity, which was a significant cause of historical bloodshed to be on a pedestal of purity.

                    this should be moved to the more humorous section of the forum yes, he was a man, but he was the son of God..that's right you don't believe in God..ahhh never mind then...case closed.


                    however, i do agree that the role of women in the church has not been given the kind of credit it deserves...
