Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

If I am wrong about the roles of women in the Bible then please do correct me by presenting another example which will shred this theory to pieces.
    Esther?

women played stock characters which served only to expand the family tree
    ...
He was plucking both chickens as if they were just machines
    ...
the greatest and the only achievement of a good woman is to be the freaking "incubator"
You have a rather low opinion of motherhood Isn't giving birth the most beautiful thing in the life of a woman?

    1 Corinthians 11

7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
8 For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.
9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
10 For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.
11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.
12 For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.

I suppose Brown's haranguing of the Christianity is justified, since, after all, the pleasure-hating, sex-hating, woman-hating Church suppressed goddess worship and eliminated the divine feminine.

Well, the book is narrated and boosted for mystery and entertainment, but it claims what it gives as far as information on the main topics it considers is true to the poitn,... which.. is not.. and simply becuase it is perfectly fixed and what may in any way falsify the claim is not mentioned nor is it answered..

            Gevo,
The information i posted above is based on a documentary program i saw on either TLC or the History Channel, i do not remember. It was a while ago, but it was most interesting to watch the different sides of the story and what they concluded about what role Mary Magdalen played in history and what she was to Jesus.

What I do like about this book is that it brings to the fore certain elements that have long been associated with conspiratorial writing, such as the priory of scion, or the Knights Templars, and he did do a nice job of writing the story since after all Brown was an English teacher. I hope this does open the door to more interest in conspiracy.

Give the book a break. It is fiction. Who cares about anything else? I did not come away from it actually thinking that there is a "Holy Grail" somewhere and that it actually contained Mary M.'s bones. You read an adventure...you move on. He is a pretty good writer. That is all that matters.

You see.. i dont think you have read any of this thread so far.. thats the whole point i am trying to make.. it is filed and sold as non-fiction.. if it were fiction.. it would not have any affect.. thus they make it non-fiction which is incorrect, because there are to many conspiracies and theories talked about.

                    I read the thread, boy.

Point 1: It does not matter how it is filed. It is a book of fiction. It was the authors intent to write fiction.

Point 2: I purchased this book from Borders from the "New Fiction" section and I purchased "Angels and Demons" from the fiction section.

Point 3: It still does not matter. It is a novel that can be enjoyable if you accept it as a novel.

I do admit his writing style does reflect a former English teacher, which is what he was.
