When are we considered human? when is a fetus wrong to kill?... ok, lets try to come up with explanations for this without getting into abortion is wrong or right arguments.. im sure this forum has seen those.. anywho..

I have read few quite interesting debates and both sides though being close, iv always felt that the "prolife" position held stronger arguements as to the baby is wrong to kill as soon as it is conceived. I want to know what other arguements or pro/con this statment. ok.. feel free to explain yourself .... and lets try not to make TOOmany links and copy'pastes from others.. but our own udnerstanding of the matter please

since we are sprititual beings first and foremost, i'd say we become human beings when each of us decides to commit to a particular human body...that moment when our mission shifts focus to being a human being with needs to experience life on earth do we become human...perhaps it's a different timeline for each soul and the works it has to do in this world, (its mission for incarnation)....however, the 1st 2 weeks of conception are the preembryonic stage (all or none), after 2 weeks we are called embryos and organogenesis begins, and after 8 weeks we are fetuses having undergone all major organ development....

uhumm... *clears throat even though there is nothing to clear, mostly for show* Bruin jan.. so.. when does a conceived 'egg' become human again?
lol.. some people may not make that decision until they are 50 years old.. of "commiting to a particular body".. i need some help to even understand the roots of this kind of beleif...

If we have an out-of-body experience, are we temporarily not human?

OK, well i dont know about an ut-of-body: experiance.. cause i have no idea what that feels like.. lol.. but, i know that being human, as we are now, we feel like we "NEED" to preserve ourselves and protect ourselves. And, i dont think it would be a stretch even in this liberal environment to say that we care much to save babies and be gaurdians to them, even those who are prochoice. So, now the problems is, when are we "babies" and when are we susceptable to human care and love??? looks like not many people have interest in this topic..

It's not an easy question to answer. From the moment of conception, the organism is human biologically speaking. There's still the question of whether or not there's more to it than that, and that's a hard one to answer. I'm not sure we can answer that. It is an interesting topic; I'm just not too sure how to approach it exactly.

Well, I have heard very convincing arguments about this issue, which basically argues that the fact of killing the fetus, at any stage is killing a potential human being, thus taking away the "experiances" from him/her that defines the core basis of a "human".. because we are emotional beings and therefore interact and remember, and have a "good" time and have a bad time.. we define whats good and wahts bad for us.. and we have perfect free will.. SO.. basically, just for the fact that killing a fetus is taking away its experiances, is the same reasoning that killing a person is bad because we take away his experiances.. and hurt those who love him/her.. so, this makes it really easy to define that "killing a fetus" is in essence wrong, because its not different than killing a fully grown human.

And, if your gonna argue that "oh in that case we cant kill sperms, or the menstrual cycle is murder" then go home, cause you dont understand the difference

when we ralize that we need to be less selifish and care moer about others- oh wait that's not human, that's more close to perfection and divinity- its in human nature to be selfish and only see things from your own prespective- so i guess we are all HUMAN in definition, but what does it mena to be human? what does it mena ?humanity? for humanity? for the human kind? human human human? arent we all human anatomically? we are not beasts, not amoebas, not microchips, not plastic, we are human, but do you mean socially a HUMAN? like to have feelings, to be a moral human being? because if that's the case, then no one is human, we all have afults and we strive to be "human"
