Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."

    Just wondering if anybody here had a chance to watch Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's UN address tonight, and if so what your thoughts were of his speech ...

    i saw it. he made some good points about the make up of the UN and the fact that countries like the US and UK are permanent members and theres no single organ in the UN to keep the bigger powers in check yet anyone can easily bring a small country into the security council and put sanctions or whatever it wasnts on them. it was alot about the structure of the UN really.

      I agree ... yet the media over here started to spin his speech into anything negative they could find. Speaking of finding things, except for two three minute clips on CNN and an 8min clip on YouTube, I can not find a source for the full video anywhere! It took me a reasonable amount of time just to find a transcript. This seems totally unbelievable to me ...

      I thought that his discussion on the history behind the creation of Israel was awesome. It's high time someone stood up and stated that the way we forced that area to except this new country was completely unacceptable and hardly ever talked about. Most Americans probably have no idea how that whole mess began in the first place.

      If we are permanent members of the UN Security Council then how do other countries ever have a chance of illustrating, and especially taking action, against world crimes we commit? The way it seems now we do not have to answer to anybody for the same crimes we tout so loudly that others are committing. It's like "Do as I say, not as I do". Regardless of his previous rants if you take his words at face value it's easy to say that this speech was a plea for change and peace.

      We think we're so righteous yet which country is the only country in the world to have actually used a nuclear weapon/WMD against another country?

        I liked Ahmadinejad's comments but i liked much more Hugo Chavez's quotes. He called George Bush The Devil!(the right word) He also reminded well every body of Palestine and lebanon which were going to be forgotten.

            OMG,

            did anyone see the stupid expression on george w.'s face when he was laughing while standing next to koffi annan? this guy is a klutz and a huge embarrasement to the most powerful country on earth.

            on the other hand, ahmadinjad kept himself very natural and kool, like a regular yerevantsi.

              The point about the permanent members of security counsel having a very convenient position drom which to fry their geopolitical opponents and whitewash their and their allies' wrongdoings was a very good point. Indeed how does UN keep the most powerful nations accountable, who besides all the bs democracy talk are usually the ones who either commit the worst crimes or give their blessings for such crimes.

              Sadly other than that and few other good points, the rest was pretty meaningless: all that talk about peace and justice and fairness and bla bla bla. These guys, and especially someone who has the opportunity to critisize the big shots of UN, shouldn't waste this valuable opportunity on same old rhetoric. Just say in one or two sentence that he and his country are commited to peace and leave it at that.

              I actually loved Chaves's talk much more. Sulfur indeed.

                While I despise Chavez and his Marxist antics, his criticisms of Bush and American imperialism are valid.

                  Commie or no commie, I just love this guy. We need more voices like his and Ahmadinejad's throughout the world. I wish them both a long life, although the CIA might be thinking otherwise.
