here, in australia we call them 'fobers' but that goes for any nationality, not juts the armenians...'fob' stands for fresh off the boat'

the ones that i saw in LA....theyare just like the lebanese community here...but the lebbos here are much worse than the armenians there....

desert_rose Rabiz is basically an Armenian guy that listens to Tatoul or Vle (Rabiz Singers) and dresses casual all the time, no jeans and sneakers! i also dont like people calling one another (fobs) etc, its retarded, as if you are some how....higher just because you arent new, or a native born citizen. WHO CARES MAN ! There is nothing wrong with someone who is ' fresh off the boat' , people call one another fob in such a negative way, as if its something terribly bad to be.

Not all ' fobs' are the type of people you guys described above. What you were discribing is the Armenian American youth, or a recent culture and lifestyle of its own, that has been givin life here in the Americas. Its not neccisarrily from those who have arrived here from Armenia.

You people should understand that not all ' Hyeastancys' that have just arrived to the United States are like those people you label as ' fobs' , not as in fresh off the boat, but as the newely changed meaning of the word as in low class, un mannered, ghetto black culture mixed with armenian culture type of lifestyle and attitude that you all slap on people. But see, the meaning of 'fob' isnt what you think it is, so refrain from giving it such a negative light.

being americanized isnt against people who are new to the states, its adopting its culture and lifestyle, state of mind etc, it doesnt necissarily mean you hate those who come to the states etc, are against new combers etc.

we were all immagrents at one time or the other( besides the native americans), even if it was our great grandfathers or fathers etc. America is made up of all races of people, all ethnicities and cultures, melting pot, BUT it doesnt mean we forget who we are or where we are from, or that we start hating everyone else who isnt like us .

I am a native born citizen, and i have nothing against those who come here for freedom or a chance at a better life, or whatever other reason they have for it, let them come and build a life for themselves , as my old generations have as well.
