Re: What is Love?
I've been keeping a distance from this thread because I knew it would be flooded with opinions. I was right, less than two weeks and we've got nearly a hundred replies.
Obviously, everyone has their own opinion of what love means. Many people might say doesn't exist and everything associated with the word is man-made. While I believe this may be true, to some extent, I don't think it's that simple. However, since this is a thread about what love means to us, I'll share my opinion accordingly.
I've always assumed I'd meet the right person and fall in love. Amazingly, I was right and everything in our relationship fell into place. My girlfriend and I didn't date for months to realize what was happening. I knew I was in love before our first date. We didn't throw the idea around and come to an agreement or a set of rules; there was no common ground. It just happened; the respect and compromise came on its own. We haven't questioned anything, and we can practically read each other's mind.
Love is when you've found your soulmate, when you don't have to sit around and question any significant part of your relationship. It's when you can trust, deeply care, and appreciate your significant other. It's when you would, without a question, do anything in your life to see them smile once more. It's a reason to wake up in the morning, to have a reason to stay motivated.
...or something along these lines.
