love is when you like someone so much that you won't stop caring about them if they suddenly become an annoying twit or jerk for a day or even all time.

For example, there's always some person whom you may always be at odds with, whether a family member, friend, ex bf/gf, etc, but whom you'd really miss if they died even if you didn't like them all the time.
