    I am Armenian and GAY. Not feminine, just masculine.

    Hey everyone.

    My whole life it was very hard for me to keep it a secret, but I realised that keeping your real personality and desires as a secret isn't living life to the fullest.

    BEING GAY is such a taboo for Armenians:
    - because most of them aren't developed that much, to know that being gay is NOT a choice. They think that it's satanic, and that you will burn in hell forever if you remain living gay.
    - Armenia has endured so much troubles, and so many people have been killed, that fear has become a part in Armenian DNA. A fear for children who will never be there, because there are gays who don't seek woman but men.


    For the second one somewhere I can understand why Armenian people think like that.
    But for the first one:
    If GOD hated gay people, he wouldn't let people get born GAY. It's God's choice, and he loves everyone, including us.

    Compared with the Armenian men who raped other woman ( just an example ), we're not bad humans at all.

      I agree with you. You miss too much of life being on alert all the time and trying to monitor everything you say and do.

      That said, Kanadahye is correct; this isn't a dating site and I don't think you'll have much luck using it that way anyway.

      Of course, you can participate in the online community in other ways though! Welcome!

          I thought it was more "social networking" type. That's a good point though...

                This is the part that I take offense to. Do you know that young boys in Thailand are often lured into prostitution and given hormones since there is profit to be made from them? What Armenians are against is the allowing for a culture that exploits people whose minds aren't fully developed and mature. Yes, there is a population that is born a certain way but I think culture has a lot to do with it and Armenians don't want to promote such a culture.

                  A culture where we are accepting of others?

                  You're implying that what goes on in Thailand would happen in Armenia if Armenians recognized that homosexuality is biologically influenced. What support do you have for this claim?

                    Accepting and exploiting are two different things. Allowing for children to become mature before being exposed to the culture ensure that they are fully developed in body and mind. Children who grow up in parts of Thailand see it as normal and there is an entire industry built around prostitution, hormones and sex changes (male to female is much easier and more profitable). The hormones given to them at a young age ensure that they will pay for the sex operation in the future.
