I don't think that gays can pretend to be straight or attempt heterosexual relationships, but I guess bisexuals can pretend to be straight.
I was thinking of the ones who are in situations where those around them convince them that they might in fact be "sick" or "broken" in a way that requires fixing. I suppose this would be more likely with increasing levels of religiosity as well. I don't mean people who intend to pretend.

Hmm... interesting social experiment. I wonder how many would pretend to be straight or at least hide it in public if there was a "gay" tax. Man, it would rule to play Caesar.

Seriously? Did you not think this through?

Something having a hereditary/genetic component points to biology, but not everyone that passes along that genetic information is homosexual.
Also, if we force people to be something they're not (with attitudes such as those you're exhibiting), then more homosexuals feel pressure to try to be heterosexual, attempt heterosexual relationships, and reproduce.

Let's suppose it is hereditary/genetic and let's say scientists found a way to test prior to pregnancy. What do you think the rates of abortion would be? Is homosexuality a desirable trait that people would honestly claim they want? After all, the point of reproduction is survival.

By the way, I have no hostility towards gay people but what I disagree with is the notion that it's 100% genetic.
There's enough for it to continue in the gene pool. I just gave you an example of how although "triggered" (I guess you mean if a person is homosexual?) it could still be passed along.

I don't think I ever claimed it was 100% genetic. Not 100% of the variance has been explained, so I wouldn't say that.
