  • Just Wondering

My pal, Josh claims that guys are more forgiving in their initial assessments of the opposite sex, than women. He says that men can see a woman's potential, were as women figure, what they see is all that there is.

I was wondering if any of the guys out there agree with my friend.

      Interesting question:
I think it doesn't depend on gender. It depends more on the state of mind and being at the moment. I know girls who stubornly stick around the same shytehead guys because of some "invisible" qualities that only they see.

A person who is not overly oversexed or undersexed or someone with normal self-esteem will make much wiser decisions, but take someone who just really wants a relationship for the sake of it, he/she will probably overlook the other person's shortcomings.

As an offshoot, are women more likely to reveal more of their less-than-wonderful qualities early on than men?

hmm, well, i donno about women in general, but i put my cards on the table right away. however, what i have noticed is sometimes people think they can handle the "less-than-wonderful qualities," but realize in the long run that they can't.

Damnit, happens to me every single time, the girl says "Oh I guess it's not a big deal that you're a Rabiz", but 5 months later I always find her in bed with our next door neighbor .... wait ... what?

It all depends on how good looking the woman is. The better the woman looks, the more likely the males are to see "potentials". I suspect it's the same the other way around, except it's not just looks. In other words, if a guy possesses certain other qualities (such as prestiege, fame, power, etc), then the women might be faaaaar more willing to see "potentials" there that may not even really exist.

The only potential a man sees in a woman is the potential to get her into bed, which is why he is willing to forgive any personality quirks, at least initially. Soon enough they'll become annoying.
