      Reminds me of the nursery-rythme:

      And so, of course
      between them both
      they scraped their platters clean.

        'Nursery rhyme'

        THE LORAX, by Seuss.

(not his words, but in his spirit)
I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees.
I've come here to celebrate Earth Day, so please
Come join me and help spread the message I bring.
Be a friend to the trees and to each living thing.

My 5-year-old knew this book by heart at 3. (Knows lots others too, to be fair.)

I know that 'normally' pictures shouldn't make much difference (though I don't personally think that) but...

Here is the brief 'Lorax' text (I think that is great, alone, but it is MUCH better with the illustrations.) http://www.danks.org/mark/Random/lorax.html

I'd buy that book, if I didn't already own a few copies.

Actually, I'm quite sure that you cannot get the message by words, alone.

        Seuss is a genius.

There are a bunch of contradicting saying.

"Opposites attract", but "birds of a feather flock together?"

"Absence makes the heart grow fonder", but "Out of sight, out of mind?"

People just pick one that suits their situation... like they need a damn excuse.
