Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

And I don't really care what some loosers says like "armenians are white and european". you live in anglo-saxon countries. your words are just funny for me.
Selpak: Being turkish and in an armenian forum, you should expect racism from armenians. you may not believe in the genocide but many armenians do, including me, and that causes a lot of friction between us. i understand that you are offended by most of the things that some armenians say about your people but, as i said before, it is expected. maybe, instead of venemously attacking armenians without warning, you could try reasoning with us. state your opinion here but know that it's no use just attacking other people like that.

Also, what have my ancestors done to yours? Last i remembered, it was your peoples ancestors that butchered mine and forced my family to spread around the world.

Also, anglo-saxon (Old English) countries include: USA, Britain, Canada, and Australia only. all other countries are different (a.k.a. not anglo-saxon)

Re: Is it wrong to date Turkish Cypriot people?

@Selpak: How could you even imply that our ancestors did anything to your ancestors when your "race" just started getting out of Central Asia (where it belongs) and barged into Armenia and started taking over like the barbarians they are! Then, if that wasn't bad enough, they just started making the Armenians' life worse and worse until they finally started to committ mass killings! Selpak, I suggest you either get some common sense and start thinking logically, or get out of here and never come back!

Re: Is it wrong to date Turkish Cypriot people?

First of all I would like to say Hi to you all ^^... I am not Armenian but I have interest in learning more about the feelings of Asmenian youth about the world... Am a turkish Cypriot, currently doing my final year Genetics study in the UK. Both my parents ancestory came to Cyprus 500 years ago during ottoman empire not when Turkish troops came to the island 30 years ago... I found the forum completely randomly... anyways... here are my thoughts...
I think racism reduces ones ability to judge individuals objectively... What really matters is what that person does ... Race cannot determine whether one does right or wrong but it is ones personality that determines. One shouldnt be responsible what his/her ancestory have done to other peoples'.
It is true that Turkish came out of asia and to the Anatolian lands... This didnt happen yesterday though... I wonder if anyone is aware how Oguz Turks people lived back in Asia? They never owned the land, they lived like nomads. Unlike the rest of the cultures at that time they didnt built their cities... The times when Turkish explored Anatolia was when the world was ruled by kingdooms, undemocracy was the keyword at that time and there was no modern life nothing... It is true that they used violence to rule over but those times nobody paid mercy if they had the power... It is thought in Turkish history that turks were always fair to those people they ruled over but history books tries to proove fairytales which I would never believe. Many of you probably know that Oguz Turks accepted Islam religion on their way to Anatolia from the Arabs... Anyway...my point is that since oguz turks had no land of their own and when asia was dominated by growing chinese populations it was attractive for oguz turks to explore Anatolia... The means they used to dominate was violent but you cannot blame any turk today for this. However I dont agree with Turkish people who are still violent towards Armenians, Kurds etc... I think both Turks and Armenians should stop fighting with eachother which wont bring a solution. The past mistakes shouldnt be repeated and the only way to do this is to stop the animosity and start diplomacy and accept past mistakes.

p.s: just to give an example of Asian turks today...Even now I know some Kazakh turks who their grandparents live in chinese land but then there was no such thing as borders so it is not supprizing. My boyfriends is Kazakh and his family had to leave their land in China 3 generations ago to save their lives. They have gone through many suffering as a minority group which I dont approve but I shouldnt hate my chinese friend for this should I?

Congratulations on being Turkish and getting a collegiate education.

          Is Borat your boyfriend?

What was the point of your post?

I think you don't mean harm, but....

You say one should think objectively and not judge on biases, yet when history books told you what monsters your ancestors were, you chose not believe it.....

The Turks "explored" in the same way that the Vikings did.....

Sorrry for the animosity, but it is well deserved.

And, I love hearing that word "fairytale" from every Turkish poster... start using a thesaurus.

          Cheers

Re: Is it wrong to date Turkish Cypriot people?

I dont understand why u are choosing to attack me with your words...am really hurt... you do not even know my true heritage and yet you are throwing insults... I do undestand that if you lost your relatives you might be hurt and all but throwing insults is not the solution as I havnt done any harm to you... I didnt say I believe history books infact I said I dont coz all of them contain one sided stories only...
I assume you do not know any Cyprus history since you judge me as a turk from turkey... I have a bit of Albanian, Greek, Latin and Ottoman heritage...Basicly I dont have a single ancestory. Back in ottoman times a population of people from all over the empire were moved to Cyprus. Before ottomans the island was ruled by Venetians ( people from venice)...many civilizations ruled over cyprus; the Byzantines, Persians , Egypts... all of them fought over the land ...
I call myself turkish cypriot coz I speak turkish and albanian cypriot will sound rather funny.
Anyhow... the point of my post was to maybe start a good quality discussion with an Armanian about their history prefably without insults ^^... I know too little about Armanian people so I thought maybe this forum will help me learn more...

p.s: If you are really really wondering...yess.. borat was used to be my bf but I left him when I learned he had a relationship with pamela enderson... heh

you feel bad coz you insulted me mistakenly assuming am from turkey? or you feel sorry coz you realized you insulted me even though u said u knew I had no bad intentions? I cant decide which one sounds worse...ahhh ....

I also do not have a good image in my mind about turkish government but yet I wouldnt go and insult individuals. However I assume you guys have been previously agitated by some turkish people which explains your ON FIRE WELLCOMING ^^ ... oh and I accept the apology but yet I dont understand the real reasons behind such big amounts of animosity...
