ya friends, i'm sure it'll still be fun, but was really excited about rooting for an Armenian ..oh well ..next time.

As for not losing too much: Isn't it the point of life? You work hard the whole year, save some money, then you go to Las Vegas and voluntarily and maniacly stick your hard earned cash into these electronic boxes that make sounds and flashes and other xxxx that is only supposed to excite kids. ...... it's sick.

Just watched the Parisyan ~ Diez fight on Unleashed the other night. Did I hear the commentator mention Judo when they were talking about the background of Karo Parisyan? Good bout but made me wonder if Karo could handle Hughes ... Overall I just want to watch a good match. The Trigg ~ St. Pierre fight was pretty decent. Trigg seems to always get caught from behind.

Karo started out with Judo at Gokor's Hayastan gym, where I used to go to as well (memories). Trigg has a weakness when it comes to submission defense. He needs to seriously work on that if he wants to improve his game. His takedowns, and standup are perfect, but he cannot fight submission fighters.

As far as the Diaz and Karo fight, that was a really close fight with a slight edge to Karo. What Karo really needs to do is improve his stand up, and his power - he needs some strength training. I swear he looks really outmuscled and small in most of his fights. I believe with more stand up (which has been improving, ex: Matt Serra fight), and some hardcore strength training, he will be very powerful.

Yeah Karo needs to up his stand up, no pun. All the punches I saw him throw practically seemed like overhands. What do you think about his quickness w/takedowns? I wonder if Diez slathered up in Vaseline before the bout to make it harder to hold on. I've heard fighters do that ... I dunno.

So from what you have posted I can infer that you indeed do practice some form of martial arts although you never answered my post that I asked you like a hundred questions (wonder why ) about becoming involved in mma and what you trained in as well if it is expensive to get into. So what's your deal with mma do you still train or teach or what? Fill me in ... I wouldn't ask if I wasn't interested.

To my surprise I won money this time. Got a royal flush on a poker slot machine (50c) , after which went on to play nolimit holdem and took everyone to cleaners for the next 6 hours.

UFC was fun, took photos with Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture. Very good knockout by Rich Franklin. His opponent fell, his body stiffed up, leg stayed extended and upward, while he had stars circling above his head.

Karo was present at the event, but he was hiding .... they were interviewing another guy and I saw him a few seats further turning his head away. He seemed to have a Russian looking blonde g/f with him.

I think I already clarified this to you, but here goes again.

I have practiced some form of martial arts - Judo. I am not in MMA as you know it, although I do participate with my former professor from school, and a few friends, in a small little private event in which we do engage in a mixed martial art competition between us. That usually happens once a month. The other times, once a week, we get together for grappling, and just practice submission wrestling.

Now you can wipe the sweat off your forehead, for actually walking away a winnar from the slots!

That's amazing that you got picture with Randy and Chuck. I remember I took picture with Chuck, but I had a disposable and it never came out quite good so I had to dump it, sadly. Wasn't UFC so much more fun LIVE as opposed to watching it on tv?

P.S. Hopefully Karo rebounds soon, some of us actually like to see him.

Well, there are few issues:

If you sit on the floor level, you cannot see ground action, so you end up looking on the screens.

If you sit on upper levels, you probably can see everything, but from one angle (so probably will look at the screens every now and then). But you're further away from action, ie I doubt you'd hear the sound a punch or kick makes.

I found myself looking at screens often, because camera follows the action from the top and that way at least you can see everything that happens.

Another thing, while it might be fun to hear people cheer etc .... but, as you know, American audience is way too noisy. Everybody thinks they are expert and keep yelling "stomp" or "kick" etc . ...or "that's not how you do a kimura!".... I think it is rather disrespectful towards the fighter to yell stupid directions. People are coming to the event, thinking it is a street brawl.

All in all, I would probably go again, if there is a fighter I like to see, for example, Karo.

I saw a recent video on Sherdog about Tito signing a three fight deal w/UFC to try and bring back the crowds to the events. He's going to fight Ken and some other heavy hitters. Says he hasn't signed a deal w/WEC, or actually "No comment". Seems like the sport is gaining some momentum finally.

Think this has anything to do (here in the U.S.) with the exposure MMA has gotten with Ultimate Fighter on Spike and ppl being able to actually see and hear the fighters talk intelligently about the sport? Realize there is more to it than meets the eye ...
