    Soccer at the World-Cup level.
    Football at the NFL level.
Basketball at the NBA level only when the teams are good.

Not sure why they are my favorites but they are exciting to watch (usually).

Ah! Sip, that's lame. Why root for only the 'best.'

Have you ever watched a bunch of grade school kids play any of these sports? THEY are way more fun to watch. Plus, they don't play for money. They play FOR the SPORT.

Some people watch sports for the rush, and others just for the vicarious element.

Those who don't understand TV sports, and can't play them either, watch NASCAR. Round and round and crash (woo hoo) and round and round...

Uhhh... because he wants to see talent? You wouldn't say you'd prefer a 1st grade recorder recital to an orchesta concert (one would hope). Same sort of thing.

That and the fact that I am much more fascinated by those who are far better than me. I could beat grade-schoolers in pretty much any sport so obviously I find no "joy" or excitement in watching them do anything.

A world-class athlete is a very different story though. A big part of the fun of watching them is imagining you were them doing those amazing things (for me anyway). And Anahita, before you come back to say how much fun it would be to just be a kid, I'll save you the trouble and state now that that doesn't do it for me (although I could see how it might be entertaining for others). I've been there, done that, and now I have grown to wish to be a LOT more than that.
