Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

    Re: Unban KinderHye

He tried his hand at a KinderHye-type character without taking into account the eager vigileance and steadfastness of all the new moderation help around here. In short, one of the moderators didn't agree with his attempt at levity and busted him for having two accounts from one IP address...apparently, that is a no-no.

The good news is that the ban is only temporary. He'll be back on 10/5.

He tried his hand at it after I specifically told him that was why Kinderhye was banned. Further it was also what he posted (which ironically enough was quite unChristian-like). And he'll be back early 10/3, not 10/5.

We'll assume after both of these incidents that all members have been sufficiently reminded of that rule.

Understood...it's your call. The other option would have been to warn him (as far as I know, he has never broke the rules here before).
Anyway, as far as the vulgarities, I see where he was comming from. I'm sure those posts were a jibe/parody at a poster by the name of Vigilante, who seems to fly under the radar even though his posts are as low brow/vulgar as they come.

Regardless, it's time for everyone to sit back (including me) and let the new class of moderators do their job.

          My last words on this...

I think I know the post you're referring to and it was edited. He may have posted vulgarities, not realizing he should choose his words more carefully, however imo it is worse for someone who knows it was inappropriate to create another account in order to make similar posts as a "joke". I fail to see the humor in that.

And although it doesn't matter, it was not the "new moderation." It was me and yes it is my call. Sure, I could have warned him (I'm aware of my options btw), but perma-banning your own alter and telling him it wasn't allowed just a day or 2 prior was his warning. Yet, he deliberating did something even more egregious which was deserving of a ban.

What thread was the so called vulgar post made in?
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

              Re: Unban KinderHye

I have edited alot of Vigilante's stuff, particularly in the Virginity thread where he made pretty atrocious and insulting comments and I warned him.

So far as my knowledge goes, he was warned and has been behaving since then unless others can point to instances of him making other insulting posts.

There is no need to make a big deal about this. No one is permanently banned and sometimes rules have to be enforced for people to cool off.

I have enjoyed yeraz's contributions, and he will be back. So let's not make a big deal, it's just a moderation move and it will be gone soon.

If anyone doesn't like the rulse on the forum, you are free to leave and not post. I have been very lenient and lax with the rules, partly because I didn't have as much time, and I couldn't keep track of everything. Now that we have more moderators, we want to get this place to be a nice decent and coherent place again. Crusader, I have warned many times to not harass PepsiAddict. You have repeatedly done so and I have let it go, and you seem to have gotten the point. If I was truly into enforcing the rules I would have banned you. If you guys don't like the rules here (which isn't all that strict), you can go elsewhere. We do this because we like the place and we want to keep it troll-free.

Please don't take the moderation as a wrong way. Many other forums have either even stricter policies, or no policies whereby trolls run rampant.

"New" is a relative term. You have been gone a long time, so your modereating here is essentially just that, new, as it has changed the dynamics here.
Also, try not to get high and mighty with us lowly posters...we know your "aware of your options". ...and I don't nessesarily disagree with your action in temporarily banning yerazhishda, btw.

Moreover and again, this is the support and feedback thread...try not to be so sensative when posters tell you what they think.
In short, I don't want to have to walk on eggshells when conversing with mods/adminitrators.

Anyway, I'm glad you're back. Anonymouse (who does a great job) needed the help. I just worried that you (and some of the other moderators) may become overzealous. Maybe even "unChristian" .

There is nothing to feel overzealous about crusader, I feel that the integrity of this forum and it's worthy content that I previously enjoyed as a regular member is something that I am now helping to perpetuate as a moderator.

I pretty much have the same thing to say as Anon.
