I think there is a danger of mixing National values and individual values.
Not every individual is moral, decent and honourable etc all the time or even part of the time .... even if he/she is an Armenian !!!.

However National values is something else. They guide (should) national institutions with their moral compass.
They are values that the nation aspires and expects, They are cast in stone.

I am referring to the army, police force, church, judiciary, governance etc where individuals members are guided ( should) in the spirit of National values
even if as individuals do not ( have never ) meet those criteria.
It should not be too difficult to observe this either in individuals or institutional leaders.

My point was, it is possible to force a group of people to focus on our national values even for short term by reinforcing them through a pep talk etc.
However outside this particular environment they will drift to their individual values which may or not be very savoury in society.

As you pointed out, the national values are the higher values.
The danger I see is substituting individual base desires for national values.
The individual should strive (earnestly) to have his/her individual values meet the height of national values.
That's not a danger but rather a goal.

Willing to bet there at least 400-700 guys in the regiment.

I guess anywhere between 100-300 in the recon battalions, for them, I have no idea. ( Take that back, considering the recon battalions are most likely issued vehicles. Probably much more)

So, I imagine its like this:

Black beret
Intelligence
NKR Special Forces
Recon battalions (blue beret)
NKR National Defense


I could be 100 percent wrong like most of the time , hopefully someone with the knowledge will clarify
Then there is NKR special forces, NKR national defense, and Armenian intelligence, which I have no idea where they fit into this.

The downing of the Armenian helicopter has changed the political situation in the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and has made it clear that the mediating efforts that started in summer have no effect on Baku, political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan told reporters today. According to him, the international community does not possess the set of tools to exert influence on Azerbaijan and the relative peace is maintained only thanks to the efforts of the Armenian Army.

Melik-Shahnazaryan said the Karabakh conflict has entered a new stage after the August events. He also presented details of the special operation of retrieving the bodies for the four pilots of the downed plane.

He said the operation was carried out by a four-member group after the examination of the area, de-mining of some parts. Three types of air devises were used in the operation, one of which was used for the first time in the history of the Armenian military forces.

Doesn’t’ the incident mean that the Minsk Group Co-Chairs are unable to solve certain issues and could this serve as a basis for changing the negotiation format, something Azerbaijani is aspiring for?

The special-purpose units perfectly carry out their tasks
2014-11-22
Within the framework of events dedicated to the Scout’s Day, a festive event was held on November 22 in one of the RA MoD special-purpose military units, dedicated to Scout’s Day and the anniversary of the formation of the RA AF intelligence units.
The event was attended by RA Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan, the Chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Yuri Khachaturov and other high-ranking military officers.
In the parade square of the military unit, the military staff of the special-purpose unit greeted the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Seyran Ohanyan. The Defence Minister congratulated all spies on the occasion of the vocational holiday, stressed the importance of the role of special-purpose units during the Artsakh war years and stated that, presently the special-purpose units perfectly execute their tasks by improving their skills and combat readiness on a daily basis.
The festive event continued with a demonstrative performance by the special-purpose units.
At the end of the event, Defence Minister Seyran Ohanyan awarded several officers and servicemen of the RA MoD special-purpose units with administrative medals and certificates of appreciation for their conscientious service and high professional skills.
Intelligence troops have undergone a difficult path of formation and today they are determined to enhance their efficiency.
The military staffs of intelligence subdivisions formed during the war years have upgraded their professional theoretical knowledge and practical skills, and have also enriched the educational and logistical database. According to the registered achievements and accomplishments, today’s intelligence agencies of the Armed Forces are establish structures which occupy a very important position among other military branches.
By facing the obstacles of war, the special-purpose units have become stronger, more skilful and carried out numerous combat manoeuvres. A lot of servicemen who have crossed this path contribute today to the defence activities of their sacred homeland.

this is where our leadership frequently lets the nation and the country down.

You can have a nation which is progressive, ambitious, achievers with high national values underperform, to put it mildly.

Armenia army team conducts inspection in Turkey

YEREVAN. – Within the framework of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE), an inspection team from the Armed Forces of Armenia is conducting an inspection of the Declared Area in Turkey, and from Wednesday to Friday.

During the inspection, the announced geographic coordinates and schematics of the military units bordering Armenia will be verified, the quantity of the CFE-limited equipment and arms and their presence in the control facilities will be inspected, and the border zones and common areas of the military units will be monitored, the Armenia MOD press service informed.
