I thought nothing would outdo that article you posted with the family "on all fours," but... with their hands? Eww, that's really bad.

Actually, my dad told of a story of being in some Uzbek "restaurant" with his brother (who happened to be moved to Uzbekistan during the Soviet times for work). Anyway he described those Uzbeks eating yellow rice drenched in some kind of oil and eaten with their hands. My uncle seemed to pay no mind to it and enjoyed his meal just fine, while my dad just tried to keep himself from vomiting.

Anyway, the whole scene everywhere in these areas are extremely dirty, filthy, and unclean and to these people its natural. Their kids pick up fecal matter in the streets and stick them in their mouths.

Well Indians eat with their hands too, what do you think about that?

Obviously it is a cultural thing but turks and their cousins take it to a whole other level with the fecies.

Well, I'm not surprised. The dirtiness and careless attitude towards hygiene habits is very common amongst Central Asians as well as Gypsies and Semites. And then they brag about their so-called "hamam"...
And 'kids' are anything in their eyes but kids. They are just abandoned and basically grow up by themselves. They are being treated like adults, have no real 'childhood', and receive 'no' real affection.

Well, I don't know about this assessment of all Asians and Semites are like this. Sounds like it may be a Muslim thing, at least in part. xxxish laws demand very high standards of ceremonial cleanliness (e.g. no blood, no pork (trichinosis), ritual ablutions, no sex during menstruation, etc.) and xxxs are Semites. I can't speak about Chinese, but it was not my impression that they were particularly uncleanly at all.

Muslims consider the ceremonial cleanliness of wiping their butt with a wet piece of paper once (so Allah listens to their prayers) to be more important than actually wiping themselves well and washing their hands.

Also, in many parts of the Muslim world, it is an insult to give someone something with your left hand, as it is believed that the left hand is dirty because it is used for washing the bottom. This is something I wonder at, since if you wash the hands well, they should be equally clean.

While that may or may not be the case, the religious laws I mentioned were obeyed in 1400 B.C. by Hebrews, who were definitely Semites. Also, if you read the book of Exodus of the Bible, you will see that Egyptians were so cleanly they looked down on Hebrews as dirty shepherd people and refused to eat with them. So, by no means were Middle Eastern practices historically unhygeneic (relatively speaking, of course). In the Indian cities of Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa in the Indus River valley in modern Pakistan (1500 - 2000 B.C.), all the cities had sewage systems in place.

As I said before, perhaps its a Muslim thing. Do Copts, Assyrians and other Middle Eastern non-Muslims have equally unhygeneic practices? My suspicion would be that they are likely cleaner.

Armanen, he is not going to be in tuned to what you are saying. Although Merv is Serbian by ethnicity, he is protestant by faith. Protestants are essentially Jews - for Jesus. I hope Merv does not take offense to what I just said. Nonetheless, Biblical Hebrews were most probably descents of Anatolian Hubaru and Hurri tribes. This fact is attested to by early Hebrew sacred folklore placing their ethno-genesis more-or-less in the Armenian Highlands. Modern Jews are not direct descendants of the ancient Hebrews.

I am aware of that, and I think it is ironic how the people living in those lands 3000 years later are less hygenic.

Interesting point. Actually, some Jews do look like Armenians, in my opinion. So, could this (what you mentioned above) possibly be a reason why some Jews look like Armenians???
