Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Tourian was not a good spiritual leader; he was a coward and he abandoned his congregation and practically gave them to the enemy like Judith himself, and plus he took with him all the valuable belongings of the Church to the U.S. with him. The Armenian Church in question was St. Stepannos Church; it was a large and a huge Church and very rich indeed. As I stated above my own grandfather's uncle was "arachnortagan pokhanort Serpazan Touriani"; Tourian's assistant, and he saw how Tourian before escaping to the US took with him all the beautiful Church's valuables. Then before going, Tourian told his congregation not to worry. He deceived his congregation and the poor Armenians in there were slaughtered along with his own assistant, my great great uncle (a saintly priest) who gave all the manuscripts of the St. Stepannos Church to my grandfather before he was taken away by the turks. My grandfather was also an important man, he was a colonel in the turkish army then as he was graduated from the turkish "esbayits varjaran" military school of turkey. Both my grandfather and his priest uncle were taken to the slavery dungeons after that. After three years being thrown in the turkish slavery dungeons my grandfather has escaped by changing his name to a Greek name but unfortunately his priest uncle died in the turkish dungeons.

As I said earlier, all Tourian's malicuous doings to his congregation and the Armenians in Smyrna wasn't enough for him, he further came to the United States and he divided the Armenian Churches in North America; and thanks to his ill doings, the Armenian Churches throughout North America to this date are still divided.
You seem to live in a world where all the normal rules of evidence and settled historical facts can be cast aside on the basis of the "absolute truth" that a relative told you. However, far from disproving ARF involvement in his murder, your low opinion of Tourian actually makes their involvement more likely (but, anyway, there IS no doubt of their involvement).

You don't know me, you don't know my integrity and you don't know the high ethics and humanity that I represent and stand for. Nor you know the high personnae of my great grandfather and his uncle. Their humanity, humility and their high standard of ethics. I wish you could be fit enough to shine their shoes as well as mine.

I happen to know the kind of person my grandfather was, and he was not only highly regarded by me; but he was regarded extremely highly by the Armenian Egyptian community at large. Both in Egypt and in here he was a known face with caliber, with good moral values and a very intelligent person as well. I would not doubt for a second his words; but I would doubt yours.

From what I read about and have been told about Tourian; the facts are facts and neither you nor I can rewrite history. Anyone knowing all the deeds that Tourian committed, obviously will not think of Tourian to be a good human being; much less a fitting man of cloth.

Whether you believe it or not; it doesn't matter to me, but again the facts are facts. The ARF as a political party was not involved.

These "normal rules of evidence & settled historical facts" , posted by you, who admit to using wikipedia, using someone else's review on EBAY to discredit an Armenian professor's work!!!
You demand far higher standards of others than you yourself work to.

And finally, with all due respect, a grandfather telling his children about part of his life, and you, you think he would lie?

Your avatar is perfect for you and you assume others have the morals of an alley-cat.

30 years ago I read an article in English by the American Police officer who was in charge of this case. I unfortunately did not note the bibliographical references. I think it was in the "American Detective" Magazine in those years. My English was not so good then. There was a photo of the killers. What I had noticed was their look, full of hate. This had struck me.

Anyway, this happenned in the USA. It would be easy to find published official statements of the Justice Court.

I can't believe the divisions are still there. You'd think after nearly a century we'd know better, but just take a look at this thread.

What is your problem? I don't expect myself to know the ins and outs of Israel's or j'ews' complete history and in due course don't expect yourself to know the ins and outs of the Armenians' complete history when it's not even in your real interest. So stop putting down other people's business or their integrity without knowing what the heck you're talking about.
