The explanation above for the colours is what I have been taught too though the Constitution of Armenia puts some Christian twist to the colour red:



As for the origins of the colour, they come from the Rubenian dynasty of Cilicia (the last Armenian dynasty) which used colours red, blue and yellow (or orange). The First Republic adopted the colours though the ratio size of the flag greatly differs from the one used today.

Today I was listening to a commentator on Armenian C1 who was referring to the relevant law that the Armenian flag colours are Garmir, Gabouyed, Tsiranakuyn.

“The fact that both Orange and Apricot are fruit and similar colour is irrelevant!!!” ..... his words.

Today I was listening to a commentator on Armenian C1 who was referring to the relevant law that the Armenian flag colours are Garmir, Gabouyed, Tsiranakuyn.
