This is from a television program (debate) in selecting a most “important” historical personality.
Vahan Hovanesyan although he is the leader of ARF Armenia he is also a historian.
I thought a historical perspective of the period and what was achieved during this period would be useful, specially those who take great pleasure in trying to disparage their own history and national figures.

"Today, some historians are of the opinion that the Mamikonians were probably descended from chieftans of the Tzans (Chanik - Ճանիք/Ճենիք - in medieval Armenian, Tzannoi in medieval Greek). The Tzans[5] were a tribe that once inhabited a mountainous region to the south of Trebizond, also known as Chan (modern day Georgians and Laz). They postulate that the tradition of the Chinese origin arose out of the similarity of the name Chanik to the Armenian word for China, Chen-k.[6]"

"Chaneti" one of the historical area Xaxktik, which is a historical Armenia.

looool chaneti is historical part of colchis or cholchis is also armenian ?
