Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.

    LAS VEGAS -- A young woman who was killed in a double murder over the
    weekend had struggled to stay in this country after an immigration
    battle involving herself and her sister.

    Channel 8 first met Mariam Sarkisian and her sister in 2005. That's
    when the government was threatening to deport the two back to Armenia
    despite living in the U.S. nearly their whole lives. Flangas

    According to police, 23-year-old Gregg Thomas, who friends say was
    Mariam's ex-boyfriend, showed up at Mariam's home unannounced.

    "broke the door wide open and Mariam was standing. He shot her. And
    then the momma was on the couch. He shot her," said Yelena Flangas,
    family friend.

    Also in the home was the couple's 1-year-old child and Mariam's
    younger sister who screamed at Thomas during the shooting.

    "'Why did you did this?' And he turned around and shot himself,
    he said 'your not taking my baby,'" said Flangas.

    Friends say the couple had recently split and were arguing over their
    young daughter.

    There are still four other surviving sisters all under the age of 25
    in this family along with the couple's little girl. The family has
    set up an account at Wells Fargo if you'd like to help with funeral
    expenses. Just mention the Sarkisian name.

            Probably would not have occured if Mariam hadn't hooked up with an otar, especially some vegas punk.

              I have to admit she kind of deserved it because she betrayed her family and nation by marrying this piece of xxxx american guy. She was a real b-oz and nothing good was going to come out of her, only harm to the Armenian nation.

              Doesn't anybody notice how when people immigrate to US many become prostitutes or just become bi-tches, I've noticed this in a considerable amount of Armenian women. I mean where is the honor or respect. Just f-ucking shameful. Damn American culture, lav@ kunem.

                Not sure this is noteworthy news...

                C'mon guys... Yes, it's better for Armenia if Armenians marry and have children with other Armenians, but we don't know anything about this girl or her situation other than she chose a guy who was mentally unstable. To say that she was a good for nothing b-oz is absurd and only demonstrates your own ignorance. Idiots are idiots regardless of ethnicity. This happens and has happened in Armenian families as well (for example, this and also, this).

                  A lot of things happen and happened to Armenians who moved to the US after 1991. All it takes is for a few bosha 'Armenians' to ruin the image of the rest, and that is what has occured in southern California.

                  Does AP and the idiots who joined that gang come to mind for anyone?

                    I agree, but those boshas are very frequent in Armenian diaspora, unfortunately. Iranians, Georgians, as a example, do not do such things even when abroad as much as Armenian women are doing. Maybe we should take them as an example.

                    It's just takes several dumb putankas to ruin a whole ethnic group's image. And for a small group like us Armenians it is disastorous, if this continues there will be no Armenians left very soon.
