Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

Yerevan residents will decide Persia Tower's fate – Municipality
November 17, 2011 - 13:04 AMT
PanARMENIAN.Net - Neither Yerevan Municipality nor Architecture Council have discussed the project of Persia Tower construction, city administration’s spokesman said.
As Artur Gevorgyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, project discussion has been scheduled to most probably take place at Architecture Council. If approved by the Council, the project will be submitted to public discussion with the involvement of interested parties. Thus, Yerevan residents will be able to decide whether to allow or ban the Persia Tower construction.
Persia Tower, a 50-storey skyscraper designed by Iranian architect Aryan Shahabian is planned to be built in the center of Yerevan, between Moscow film theatre and Golden Tulip hotel.
Shahabian's project won the 2nd place in an international architecture contest.

Re: Armenia: Future Projects and Developments
So I've never seen the Matenadaran in person, and I almost never see any side of it other than the front on the internet, but I found this while googling

Does this mean they're expanding it? or does it mean they're going to build a new bigger one with an identical entrance?

Re: Armenia: Future Projects and Developments
Depends on taste. I think it's done geniously, taking into account the limited budget and the small (thin and long) area. It's a beautiful combination between classical and modern. Meshes in very well with the orignal building, in a unique way.Originally posted by ara87 View PostAh thanks, I just googled "new matendaran" and saw pictures of the expansion, which I don't like, it doesn't mesh well with the original building

All the statements you have made on this forum are idiotic. You are by far the most "ungenious" person Scotland has produced, and believe me, there have been so many "ungenious" Scotts, Stevie.Originally posted by bell-the-cat View PostOf all the idiotic statements you have made on this forum (and there have been so many) the above is by far the most "ungenious".
That was exactly what I was thinking when looking at the photo. Let's hope this will be done in the future!Nice photo Tigranakert. Now if they could plant trees all around, that would be just great.Last edited by Tigranakert; 01-22-2012, 09:00 AM.
