YEREVAN. – Opposition Heritage party member, MP Armen Martirosyan does not exclude that Heritage will have less seats in the parliament after the 2012 elections, the MP told at the press conference on Tuesday.

“We neither started the world nor will end it. Essential is how the society will struggle for preserving its voice,” told Martirosyan.

Armen Martirosyan believes that the ruling Republican party of Armenia and the opposition Armenian National Congress will form a coalition after the elections. The coalition will be logical as there are many similar issues on approaches and the way of working, he added.

Furthermore, if you understand anything about politics, instead of insulting Armenians for being unhappy about the statue issue, which by the way is no issue at all since the statue is proudly erected in a nearby suburb home to a larger Armenian community, and, in all fairness, Armenians were wrong in the first place to have ignored the laws of the land and put it up without approval, WHAT YOU SHOULD CONCENTRATE YOUR EFFORTS ON IS EXPOSING TO THE WORLD HOW TURKS TRIES TO SUPPRESS THE RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS OF ARMENIANS LIVING IN OTHER COUNTRIES.

Armenia-Turkey “monstrosity” dismantled in Kars

The monument to Armenia-Turkey friendship, slammed as “a monstrosity” by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was dismantled in Kars.

The last pieces of the statue were destroyed within the recent two days and transferred to another place, Hurriyet newspaper reports.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, during his visit to Kars, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called the monument to Armenia-Turkey friendship “monstrous” and ordered to demolish it.

Former Mayor of Kars Naif Alibeyoglu has always stood for the opening of the Armenia-Turkey border without any preconditions and for this purpose organized a collection of signature in Kars. On his initiative, a large monument was put to represent the Armenian-Turkish friendship and peace. However, Alibeyoglu was defeated in the mayoral elections in 2009. The unfinished monument was put near the old Armenian district of Kars.

Azerbaijan erects statue to officer who killed 4 Armenians

Azerbaijan has erected a statue to a military officer who killed four and wounded as much Armenian conscripts in a diversion attack on an Armenian outpost last year.

Mubariz Ibrahimov, welcomed as hero at home, died in a commando-style attack on 19 June 2010.

According to the Azerbaijani 1news.az, the statue is four-meter long and has been erected with the funds of Azerbaijan’s Central Bank.

Mubariz Ibrahimov was posthumously awarded the title of hero by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
