One of the WikiLeaks-disclosed cables revealed details of the meeting between U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch and Georgian Ambassador to Armenia Gregory Tabatadze.

“The two main themes of Tabatadze’s comments were that the Armenians do not appreciate all that the Government of Georgia (GOG) has done for them, and that Armenians constantly demand more without offering anything in return,” the cable reads.

It refers both to the issues of border demarcation and the disputed churches.

“We don’t want the churches. Everyone knows they are Armenian churches.” Tabatadze said, but it would only be fair for the Georgians to receive other churches in return.

“Tabatadze believes that the Armenian Government (GOAM) is purposefully pressing the Georgians on all these issues because the Armenians believe Georgia is in a position of weakness after the war with Russia, which has left the country in a fragile psychological state. He also believes that the Russians are pushing the GOAM to make many of these demands as part of the Russian campaign against Georgia.

Tabatadze warned that there was a view in the MFA that Georgia should teach Armenia a lesson by shutting the border, if Armenia persists in its maximalist agenda. ‘We could close the border in one day,’ he stated,” the document says.

The document also provides Foreign Ministry’s comments saying they had never heard anyone in the foreign office, or anywhere in the Government, seriously propose closing the border with Armenia.

As to the opposition, Minasyan noted that their leader, Levon Ter-Petrossian, is a professional revolutionist, who had a role in the USSR collapse. He said, Ter-Petrossian will resort to provocation sooner or later. As to oligarchs, Minasyan described them as people with outdated mentality and said that Sargsyan hopes to put an end to their impunity. Minasyan said that young, educated and perspective people are gaining weight in the ruling party.

Ahh, I have noted that there are lies - and then there are Tigranakert lies.

If such an action was undertaken, it could create a war situation between Armenia–Georgia and possibly Georgia–Russia.

It may be very easy to overlook but Georgian anti-Russian stance and its general c.ockiness ( bordering to stupidity) is underpinned on its non reliance of Russian energy.

It is no secret that there are two pumping stations in Georgia heating and pumping oil + gas along the BTC pipeline.

During the Russian–Georgian war Sultan Aliev made a personal plea to Russian President not to put out of action the BTC pipeline.
That favour was granted.

In a new conflict there may be much more at risk to grant such a favour.

Without BTC, Georgia’s illusion of independence of Russian influence would evaporate pretty quickly.

Azeri hacker attacks on Armenia’s tourist websites continue

PanARMENIAN.Net - Over the last month, official websites of a number of Armenian travel agencies fell victim to Azeri hacker attacks. Among hacked websites are: www.yerevantravel.ru; www.armeniatravel.ru; www.turist.am; www.jermuk.ru; www.cakhkadzor.ru and www.armeniantour.ru.

On August 3 through September 4, Yerevan Travel tourist agency technical service reported 53 attacks, 4 hacks and information loss.

Yerevan Travel Director General Hovhannes Khachatryan issued a statement condemning destructive steps which may undermine Armenia-Azerbaijan dialogue on Karabakh settlement. “We hope the common sense will triumph, with law enforcement agencies to reveal and prevent further violations in virtual space,” the statement said.

It is well known that Armenians have appropriated some of the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan and have “Armenized” them.
One needs to be so much shameless to appropriate culture of other nation and popularize it as his own.

This seems to be their essence. Armenians who have sought to shape their false culture due to other nations try to appropriate everything they see and resort to various hypocritical means to make international community to believe in their lies. The Eurovision Song Contest-2009 can serve as example. Back then, Armenians displayed the image of “We and our mountains” monument located in occupied part of Karabakh in a short footage shot by them. This was sign of open claims of Armenia to a part of Azerbaijani land and its greedy nature.

It is no coincidence that organizing committee of the contest provided an immediate response to protests by the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan and removed image of the monument in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan from the video of Armenia. The fact that Armenian singer Sirusho displayed the image of the same monument again this time on the reverse side of a note-book while announcing outcomes of the voting can be described as nothing but impudence.

It is noteworthy that the monument “We and our mountains” (consists of heads of an old man and an old woman) was erected near Khankandi in Askaran District of Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region of Azerbaijan SSR in 1967 to show that Karabakh is a land of long-livers.

Who knows, the name “We and our monuments” was meant to indicate that the area where it is located belongs to Armenians and that they have been settled here since ancient times. The fact that the monument has been erected by Azerbaijani citizen of Armenian origin Sarkis Bagdasaryan gives a reason to think this way.

That the monument was built by a sculptor of Armenian origin does not mean it is a cultural heritage of Armenia. It has been built by Azerbaijani citizen through the funds from the Azerbaijani budget in Azerbaijani territory. Monuments are considered wealth of a country where they are located throughout the world.

Who would think Armenia will put claims to monuments created by Azerbaijani citizens through funds of Azerbaijan in Azerbaijani territory after some time?! The fact that it has been erected by Armenian architect does not prevent it to be one of the masterpieces belonging to Azerbaijani art and list it as a cultural heritage of a state which has nothing to do with this territory and has spent no funds to erect it.

Armenian themselves understand it very well that this monument does not belong to them. Otherwise, they would not insult a monument which they almost tried to present as their national symbol in a contest which has nothing to do with politics.

To be more exact, as it can be seen from the photos taken this summer, Armenians have spoiled the look of the monument by various writings on it. There is nothing surprising about this.

This is because a group of people (I can not simply call Armenians a nation) unable to create any work of art fail to appreciate cultural heritage of by other nations.

If they insult the monument which they consider their symbol, then it is not difficult to imagine what they do to monuments of Azerbaijan, which they see as their enemy.

Iranian-Azerbaijani poet in Turkey says Iran would execute him for his writings about Armenia


ISTANBUL. - Turkish Yeni Şafak daily published an article about an Iranian-Azerbaijani poet, a certain Habib, who allegedly escaped from Iran because he would be sentenced to death for his poems about Karabakh. Translation from the excerpts of this article is as follows:

Because of Iran’s close relations with Armenia and his Azerbaijani identity, the Iranian-Azerbaijani Habib was persecuted, and he voluntarily came to Istanbul for saying things that are prohibited in Iran. The penalty for saying such things is death. He is a 33-year-old poet and activist. He has left his homeland in order not to go to jail and not to remain silent, and has chosen to live in Turkey.

“Because of Iran’s relations with Armenia, we cannot criticize what Armenia has done to us. If they find my poems in Iran, I would be executed,” Habib says. So, he came to Istanbul to speak more freely, compile his poems in a book, and enroll into university. “Our newspapers, television channels, and books are in Farsi; they do not allow us to read and write in Turkish. Being 55 percent of the population, we have a right to read and write in our language,” Habib says.

He also says this is because they wish to obstruct the Turks from getting stronger in Iran. “The Azerbaijani nation had a great empire 800 years ago, but now they are separated it into pieces. The world does not want for the Turkish nations to unite. Since the world realized our might, they separated us into pieces and are trying to control us. The Communists took over Karabakh, each and every Azerbaijani went to different places, and they think that if the Azerbaijanis unite, they could restore their strength from 800 years ago.”

Habib also says the Azerbaijanis are oppressed in Iran. “They write bad things about us in papers, present us as immoral, and do not respect our ideas.”

Though, all Turks would be well aware of that fact, and would be laughing at this individual's silly words. There is no source given for this item (it should be obligatory for all posters reposting material from other sources to cite the source) but Yeni Şafak is an extremist right-wing vanity-press publication, not a serious or important newspaper. I doubt mainstream Turkish media would nowadays print such nonsense.

Armenians killed, "Azerbaijanis" in the course of four volumes
As director of the Institute, told journalists the history of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan Yagub Mahmudov, published four-volume, "tells of the genocide committed by Armenians against the Azerbaijani people." "The book reflects the facts of the genocide committed in the Baku province gangs, led by Stepan Shaumian, as well as the atrocities committed by Armenians in the other territories of Azerbaijan", - told reporters the academician.
The Armenians, according to Makhmudov Azerbaijanis killed throughout the South Caucasus. It lasted four volumes! Moreover, the "genocide of Azerbaijanis" in Yerevan province subject of a book.
According to Voskanapat.info, crying in a four-Institute of History of Azerbaijan and was not given an answer to two questions:
1. Who are "Azeris"?
2. Why in the territories to which the Armenians carried out "genocide of Azerbaijanis", Armenians no longer live, but the "Azeris" continue to multiply?
