When defending the line, a good shooter, lets waste as many as we can on the line of defense. Armenia and Armenians have always been great at defense how many more time must we prove this?An excellent positioning and shure to be a good shooter. But your are right in one respect, charging in the open, after wasting as many as possible with only the screaming wounded littering the battlefield it is the perfect time for the offense. For the world has seen so much of Armenia in defense, I don't think they can fathom what an Armenian can do in offense.

Հայաստանի Հանրապետության նախագահ, Հայաստանի զինված ուժերի գերագույն գլխավոր հրամանատար Սերժ Սարգսյանն Ամանորի և Սուրբ Ծննդյան տոների կապակցությամբ այսօր այցելել է մեր երկրի պաշտպանական դիրքեր:
Նախագահին ուղեկցել են Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոս Գարեգին Երկրորդը, ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարար Սեյրան Օհանյանը: Հանրապետության ղեկավարը հետևել է պաշտպանական հենակետերում մարտական հերթապահության կազմակերպմանը, զրուցել զիվորների հետ՝ նրանց հետաքրքրող հարցերի շուրջ:
Սերժ Սարգսյանը շնորհավորել է Հայոց բանակի զինծառայողներին գալիք տոների կապակցությամբ, հղել բարեմաղթանքներ և շնորհակալություն հայտնել անձնվեր ծառայության համար: «Հայ զինվորը կոչում է: Պարտադիր չէ, որ նա լինի խրամատում կամ ինքնաձիգը ձեռքին: Կարևորն այն է, որ մարդն իրեն զգա Հայրենիքի զինվոր: Ես կարծում եմ՝ առավել բարձր կոչում և առավել մեծ երջանկություն չկա, քան լինել Հայրենիքի զինվոր: Ես շատ բան եմ տեսել, չնայած, տարիքով այնքան էլ մեծ չեմ. տեսել եմ մեր ժողովրդի դժվարությունները, տեսել եմ բազմաթիվ ընկերների կորուստներ, տեսել եմ, թե ինչպես են բնակավայրեր ավերվում: Ամեն ինչ տեսել եմ: Տեսել եմ ընկերների նվիրվածություն, տեսել եմ ընկերների դավաճանություն: Ամեն ինչ: Բայց, իրոք, ավելի մեծ բան, քան Հայրենիքին ծառայելը չկա: Ուզում եմ, սիրելի՛ զինվորներ, որ դուք այս գիտակցությամբ ապրեք ձեր ողջ կյանքը: Մեր ժողովուրդը շատ երկար է ապրում այս հողի վրա, շատ երկար ճանապարհ ենք անցել: Այդ ճանապարհին եղել են հաջողություններ, եղել են անհաջողություններ, բայց մենք, փառք Աստծո, կանք, և վստահ եմ, որ մշտապես լինելու ենք: Մենք կանք, որովհետև և՛ մեր իշխանավորը, մեծամասամբ, և՛ եկեղեցականը, և՛ ռամիկը շատ դեպքերում իրենց զինվոր են համարել: Մեր հարևանությամբ եղել են ժողովուրդներ, որոնք և՛ քանակով, և՛ իրենց հզորությամբ շատ ավելին են եղել, քան մենք: Կարելի է թվարկել առնվազն երկու տասնյակ ժողովուրդների, որ մնացել են պատմության կեռմաններում, մնացել են, որովհետև իրենք իրենց ազգի զինվորը չեն եղել, իրենց Հայրենիքի զինվորը չեն եղել: Եվ մենք հարատևելու ենք, որովհետև մեզնից շատ-շատերն իրենց համարում են Հայրենիքի զինվորը»,-ասել է Նախագահ Սարգսյանը:
Ծառայության ընթացքում իրենց անձնվիրությամբ և խիզախությամբ աչքի ընկած մի խումբ զինվորներ Նախագահի կողմից ստացել են նվերներ:
Հանրապետության ղեկավարը նաև հանդիպել է Արենի գյուղի բնակիչների հետ, շնորհավորել նրանց գալիք տոների կապակցությամբ, զրուցել բնակիչներին հուզող և հետաքրքող հարցերի շուրջ:

In the last few years there were an increased number of non-combat deaths were reported in the Armenian and Artsakh Armed Forces. Certain anti-Armenian individuals and organizations tried to take advantage of the situation by denigrating the image and morale of the Armenian Army. I'm glad that our Ministry of Defense has been working on this problem in earnest, and that the number of non-combat deaths is decreasing. To put things in perspective, here is a report on just how much worse the situation is in the US Army, an Army that has a budget more than 1,000 times greater than Armenia's, and one that does not face an imminent invasion from two barbaric and genocidal neighbors.
US Soldier Suicides Outnumber Combat Deaths In 2012

Suicides continue to increase in the military, as they outnumber combat-related deaths in Afghanistan.
WASHINGTON (CBS DC) – American soldier suicides continue to outnumber combat-related deaths in 2012, and the trajectory for soldier suicides continues to get worse.
Statistics released by the Department of the Army show that through November potentially 303 active-duty, Reserve and National Guard soldiers committed suicide. As of Dec. 7, Stars and Stripes reports that 212 soldiers have died in combat-related deaths in Afghanistan.
The Army set a grim new record of 177 potential active-duty cases with 2012 coming to a close on Tuesday – 64 of these cases remain under investigation, 113 have been confirmed.
In June of this year, The Pentagon reported there had been at least 154 suicides among active-duty troops – a rate of nearly one each day. The number of suicides continues to increase despite numerous new training and awareness programs put into effect in the past few years.
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta stated on Nov. 12 that the Obama administration will cease combat operations by the end of 2014, but it is still refining its timeline for withdrawing the remaining 68,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
“So we’re dealing with broader societal issues,” Panetta said in a June speech. “Substance abuse, financial distress and relationship problems — the risk factors for suicide — also reflect problems … that will endure beyond war.”
A bipartisan group of lawmakers from both the House and the Senate are pushing for new rules that would allow military commanders and mental health specialists to ask unstable troops if they own personal firearms, reports Stars and Stripes.
About 53 percent of those who died by suicide in the military in 2011, the most recent year for which data is available, had no history of deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan, according to the Defense Department. And nearly 85 percent of military members who took their lives had no direct combat history, meaning they may have been deployed but not seen action.
“As part of the Army’s team-based and holistic approach to suicide prevention and stigma reduction, Army chaplains remain committed to fostering a resilient and ready force by enhancing strength, reducing stigma and encouraging help-seeking behaviors,” the Army’s Maj. Gen. Donald L. Rutherford, Chief of Chaplains, said in the Department of Defense press release “Our soldiers, families and civilians are our most precious resource, and the chaplaincy embodies the best of our Army values when it proclaims hope, embraces community, and stands with those who feel they stand alone.”

What have they been doing to combat this problem? Simple statistics mean nothing, as they can be artificial or interpreted in a specific way to achieve a specific purpose.Comment
