6 Armenian soldiers captured by Azerbaijan
Up to the moment six Armenian soldiers are captured by Azerbaijani side, Senior Officer of Unit 9 of the Operative Department of the General Staff of Armed Forces of Armenia Samvel Asatrian told journalists at today’s press conference, followed the OSCE scheduled observation at border close to Berkaber village of Ijevan region of Tavush province of Armenia.

He also said of the Armenian family, which had passed Armenia-Azerbaijan border in direction of Nakhchivan and was captured by Azerbaijani side.

Referring to captives from Azerbaijan, Samvel Asatrian said of two soldiers of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan, and a civilian. Besides, Armenian side is cooperating with international organisations to hand to the Azerbaijani side bodies of their soldiers, who were killed late March 2 after attempt to commit sabotage in territory of Armenia. The case is being investigating by Armenian officials, added Samvel Asatrian.

I wonder how the soldiers were captures? Was there a fire fight -or did they cross the border not knowingly -or did they go intentionally?

If you ask and Azerbaijanis and the soldiers' interviews whilst in Azerbaijan, they did so knowingly. They did it to escape the 'poor condition in the Armenian army'.

Azerbaijan sentenced military man accused of high treason to six years imprisonment

Azerbaijan sentenced a military man accused of high treason.

Today Military Serious Crimes Court sentenced Namig Rajabov, soldier of military unit N. of the Ministry of Defence in Dashkesan region to six years imprisonment.

During the period of service in the military unit Rajabov was sent by company commander, Lieutenant Anar Allahverdiyev to the territory of Armenia, where employees of the Armenian intelligence service employees got information about fighting stock, armory in the military unit and other information from him.

Rajabov is charged with Article 274 (high treason), 338.1 (infringement of rules on implementing fighting watch (fighting service) on duly detection and reflection of sudden attack on the Azerbaijan Republic or maintenance of its safety if this act could harm interests of safety of the state), 232.1 (Plunder or extortion of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies or explosives on preliminary arrangement by group of persons) of the Criminal Code.

Earlier, Anar Allahverdiyev was sentenced by the verdict of the Military Serious Crimes Court to 14 years imprisonment
