Nazarbayev acting as Aliyev's personal lobbyist at the EEU meeting yesterday should be treated as an extension to what Kazakhstan would do in case Armenia evokes a CSTO response to a threat to its national security from Azerbaijan. Not sure if this can be extended to the rest of the -stans but it's likely. We're in this alone with the possible exception of Russia, really the only CSTO member that actually matters.

I will not go into all the discussions but only what nazarbayev says.
- there is one other issue, not very pleasant, but which we have to discuss in order to iron out all the questions and as much as this worries our colleague from Azerbaijan that he put his views in letters sent to all of us. This concerns about recognised borders of Armenia in acceptence of any agreements. It mentions as precedence of Armenia's accession of WTO agreement with recognised borders, there is such a precedent, and the nessecity of recognising Armenia's territorial accesion in EEU with UN recognised borders. Well we are not making any decision about this. I am sure we'll come to agreement about this issue before july 1st.

Where is the drama? In no way Nazarbayev or any one in this meeting discusses anything about Artsakh's status. There is a provocative letter from Aliev and Nazarbayev discusses it. Where is our delegation in shock? Where is the danger of giving up artsakh to Azerbaijan for entry into union? Or discussion of puting border posts between Armenia and Artsakh? Or russians, or anybody else to be stationed there?
This scandal is totally stupid by opposition. There is no battle for artsakh in here. All will be said or agreed is what is evident. Not only Armenia, but all other states go into this union with UN accepted borders.
Haha. before this clip I thought that something serious had happened. But as usual, it's all a hurricane in a cup of water.
As much as russia is going in there with UN accepted borders(crimea, abkazia, osetia, transdniesdria???), so will we.

Official: Armenia will not take moves damaging Karabakh's economic and political interests

YEREVAN. – A representative of Armenia's ruling party said country's accession to Customs Union and Eurasian Economic Union does not imply discussion of borders, and has no relation to such problems.

Eduard Sharmazanov, spokesperson for RPA, told Armenian News-NEWS.am “the fact that the Republic of Armenia and the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic are in one economic space is not put into question”.

“Another fact is that Armenia will join Eurasian Union in June, and there are only a couple of issues to be clarified. The remaining issues have no relation to borders, but do concern import and export of some goods,” Sharmazanov said commenting on Nursultan Nazarbayev's remarks.

During the meeting of Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Astana, Nazarbayev spoke about the letter by President Ilham Aliyev calling to to accept Armenia only within its internationally recognized borders.

The Armenian official insisted the structures of Customs or Eurasian unions are not authorized to discuss border issues.
Sharmazanov emphasized Armenia's joining WTO, Customs and Eurasian union, is not to solve Karabakh conflict, but is based on economic interests.

“These organizations are not authorized to deal with Karabakh issue. There is the OSCE Minsk Group for this purpose,” he added.

As to public response to Nazarbayev's remark, Sharmazanov noted that Armenia has experienced journalists and political figures who should see the difference between political negotiations and public messages.

“We perfectly understand why and for whom these remarks were voiced. The last days' media hype is not in the interests of Armenian society. Armenia is the guarantor of the security of NKR and does not intend to take steps that would harm the economic, political interests and security of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh,” he resumed.

I think this blows the wind out of Sultan Aliev’s argument.
He made his laconic statement as usual, all be it through a spokesman, lets move on!!
Yes it shows the panic and how impotent he is to effect anything on Armenia.

The reality is, Armenia and Karabagh economies are integrated, It could not even described it as dependent. No changes there.

The border issue is academic in the sense that, what we have de facto is what we have.

I wish we took further measures to minimise our casualties.

It must be one of the most pressing issues of our military.
It effects the peoples moral and confidence beyond the loss of our young men.

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Death fact has been recorded in the Main Clinical Hospital of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

APA reports that sergeant of Azerbaijani army, Vusala Tahir Nadirova, 1979, has dead of acute meningitis.

The press service of the Ministry of Defense confirmed the fact to APA.
