Russian leader urges CSTO states to be ready for countering ISIS threat
    16:15, 23.12.2014

President of Russia Vladimir Putin called on CSTO member states to be ready for preventive measures to counter threats from the Islamic State in the Central Asia, TASS reported.

“The current situation arouses concern. Militants from the Islamic State terrorist group make a stab at including some provinces of Afghanistan into the so-called Islamic Caliphate,” he said. “Terrorist and extremist groups are trying to extend their activities in Central Asia,” Putin said.

He noted importance of close interaction with Afghanistan, adding that “we seek to see Afghanistan prosperous and neutral”.

When was this photo taken? How do we have it? I thought the US won't sell us anything...

Well the US isn't the only one using it. According the wiki article Moldova is a operator too and I think we already know that the Moldovan government is willing to sell military hardware for a good price.

Anyway it is good to see we don't just exclusively use Soviet trucks but have some veriety.

But does anyone know why these soldiers keep taking pictures of themselves while wearing slippers? Don't they know it looks ridiculous?
I have a small transportation biz. Contracts change from year to year and even month to month.
Fort Wienright (army), Eilson air force base, Fort Greely (missile base), & Wright air base are places I have commonly made runs too, often on a regular basis. The soldiers & airmen commonly wear similar if not identicle footwear.
The military is keen on foot care. Dry & clean + proper maintainence .
If you haunt military bases, I suspect you'll see this is common practice (airy slippers/sandals etc.)

Yeah, but I wasn't saying they shouldn't wear slippers. Just that it looks silly in pictures.
