I agree with armnuke, we should stay on topic. Looks like my agreement with Samvel and the map I shared has struck a nerve with many people here. I'd have to say, its not really the best way to start off on this forum but whatever.

Anyways, recently a user added information to the wiki regarding the AR1A. Now, I was completely unaware of Armenia ever having this Chinese Smerch variant and I am reluctant to include it into the article as I fear it would be deleted by other editors for not being properly sourced. The source provided was in Russian, and I can't read Cyrillic (I can read Polish/Slavic Latin script) but google translate comes up with the word "allegedly". Does anyone know for sure if we have the AR1A? If so, can you post a source that I might be able to use? Doesn't the acquisition of BM-30 Smerch pretty much negate the AR1A claims? They are the same system, with a slightly different reloading process. I don't see why we would purchase both.

There are many rumors. We will know which one is real at the upcoming parade in September.

Armenia has acquired Chinese multiple-launch rocket systems with a firing range of up to 130 kilometers, a military source in Yerevan told RFE/RL’s Armenian service (Azatutyun.am) on Monday.

The Armenian Defense Ministry, for its part, refused to confirm or refute the information. “Armenia’s armed forces are constantly supplied with new weapons and increase their combat readiness,” the ministry spokesman, Artsrun Hovannisian
Thank you Abu, but unfortunately I won't be able to use this source for this. Its not confirmed, unlike the BM-30 and TOS-1A information which was released by the Russian government.

Asbarez once posted an article about armenia acquiring such systems...i wouldn't mind either having both of them in our arsenal,in fact it would be brilliant to have the ar-1A because it has a longer range than the smerch

Concerning the AR1As, there's an arms procurement document in Russian, AR1A is listed on it.
The same source also says that we got MILAN ATGMs from the Greeks.
I cannot independently verify its source though.
