So we didnt lose land? even our government said we lost land. So if one hill is not important than where do we draw the line? two hills? a town?

I'm referring to your hysterical outrage sparked by that post from an Azeri website. Don't put words in my mouth.

"Armenia says seeks to increase defense ties with Iran

As neighbors Iran and Armenia have expanded close economic ties. The visit to Tehran by the Armenian defense chief indicates that Iran and its northern neighbor also seek to close their ranks in terms of military cooperation."

TEHRAN – Armenian Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan who visited Iran on Tuesday said his country is seeking to expand cooperation with Iran in the area of defense.

Does Iran have any armament that we can use? I am thinking their small jeeps (Nissan engine) and their high end drones? Will be nice to purchase something, just to infuriate the azeris and the shekels.

Im not hysterical, this is a forum and Im asking the members on this forum what their opinion is on where you think our government will draw the line. Apparently losing 800 hectars or whatever Serj said is not enough having over 100 killed young men is not enough, so what do you or other members think is enough? where does our government draw the line. Fact is we lost land (not to mention the young soldiers killed) and our government says thats ok. To me its not ok but where do you guys think is the line?

I stress the management and not the fighting spirit of our boys.

Our side took a day or two to counter attack causing significant casualties to the enemy.
Considering the desperate pleas of the sultan for cease fire, one has to confidently assume
the enemy was wrong footed and would not be able to handle what would follow.

There is no dispute to the above.

                  What followed.
Our chief of staff was called to Moscow to have a meeting with his opposite number for cease fire.
If I remember correctly our chief of staff said, “Putin asked ( or ordered ) a cease fire therefore we stopped the fight.”
No demand in exchange for cease fire at least withdrawal to the original line of contact.

It also appears all this happened above the heads of Serj Sargissyan and Bako Sahagyan.
Then started the clumsy lies justification with more lies etc.

Negotiators are conditioned to defend their interests as an instinct.
And yet our chief of staff made agreements without any consideration of the reality on the ground.

                  What could have been done?

How about insist enemy withdraws to the original LOC.
Use delaying tactics to secure one or two strategic positions to disable the enemy with its adventurism.

Accepting a cease fire while the enemy is in pain to our disadvantage is simply stupidly incompetent.

One has to ask, haven't these Generals been in a fight as kids because kids wouldn't have done such a mistake.

                  .

                  Correct observation.
I may add April war proved that our military was much more prepared for a surprise development by Azeris than our government was.
The initial 2-3 days of dissarray of government actions and diplomatic numbness left Moscow a free hand in desiding and forcing the moment and conditions of ceasefire which ended up beneficial to azeri propaganda.
Nalbandian and his dept did not even put a single demand or condition where in only 3 days it became clear that our military not only stopped Azeris, but also decimated their special forces. The situation definitely had turned to our favor on 3rd day as our forces took back large swaths that Azeris had taken on first day.
Our government was not ready and without any plans. That is why it agreed to moscow's ceasefire demand.
If you guys remember starting from president down to parliament speaker and most officials repeatedly excluded Azerbaijan attack in any near future. I remember Serj declaring so, maybe 2-3 weeks before that as he was Responding to increased public discomfort to increased azeri diversions since January.
Our government was sleepwalking on it's own lullaby.
If government did not rely on Moscow so much and pull itself a little out of kremlin's ass, situation would be all different.
It is wrong to assume that we would still be in a large war. Because that was not azeri plan (maybe they were not ready for total war like Serj said). But bottom line is, we gave more than adequate military response but government did not do its job.
It is still fresh in our memory. After 3 days azery drive was wasted but our army and public were just starting the fight.

Giving up any land will set a precedence that will be more costly for next generations.......Armenia must pre-empt Azerbaijan and remove the Azeri military threat in surrounding areas and re-draw the buffer zone.

I would take the first bullet if I could.

There is still a big question mark, on the very fact of that actual meeting between Roj and his azari conterpart in Maskwa.
