Yes and they have made a partnership.
Under a deal signed between Russia and Azerbaijan on June 29, Russia will pay Azerbaijan $350 per thousand cubic meters of natural gas -- the highest price Russia has paid for natural gas from the Caucasus or Central Asia. Moscow hopes the deal will choke off other potential export routes for Azerbaijani natural gas, as control over energy exports to Europe is one of Russia's most powerful political levers. The Kremlin does not care much where the natural gas comes from -- its own fields or those of its Central Asian vassal states -- as long as it controls the spigot at the end of the line. Being able to shut off Europe's gas in the middle of a winter affords Russia great political control.

Also Israeli President Shimon Peres is/was in Azerbaijan and both leaders have praised each other on the road ahead with great economical and military co-operations.

        BTW, Wecome to the site.

No, it says 350$ per 1000 cu. meters of gas. So doing the math, it will account for 175 million USD, minus costs and everything, they will earn a minimum of one hundred million USD.

And for that $100 millions bucks, they're precisely where Putin wants them, in his back pocket.
Good cheap deal for the KGB boys.

Without wanting to go too far away from the topic of this thread, I would like to remind that Cyprus ended up in its current situation because of the betrayal of the Greek Government of the time (CIA controlled military junta). Cyprus was betrayed both militarily and politically.

The objectives of the enemies of Cyprus were at work right from day one of independence by imposing a flawed constitution, taking advantage of historical animosity between Greeks/Turks, over time using the "mother" country to work against it and most importantly traitors from within. It took them 34 years (1960-1974) to achieve their goal. The reason, its strategic location. Something that will never stop being so.

Now try to draw parallels (and project) between Cyprus and NK.

I think we should draw important lessons from this sad outcome.

                      1. Our enemies will not give up easily therefore time is in their favour.

                      2. There will be times when there will be discord among ourselves and therefore weaken our political resolve and weaken international support.

                      3. Opportunities for traitors to "nurtured" through third party countries etc.
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests
