About time we said something smart like this. This is nice, he will look like an idiot now! Not that he does not look like an idiot already

So lets tell him how it is, 5 days to say sorry and 5 days after that to declare war! I have not heard of a smarter thing to say, this really makes them look like such big idiots, again not that they already are not iditos

Production of 60 MRAPs ordered by Azerbaijani Armed Forces to finish till year-end

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. The Ministry of Defense Industry together with Paramount Group of South Africa will finish the production of 60 mine resistant ambush protected vehicles ordered by Azerbaijani Armed Forces on the basis of license of this company till the end of this year.

APA reports that 30 “Marauder” and 30 “Matador” vehicles will be produced.

The production of vehicles continues in the Computer Plant of the Ministry of Defense Industry on schedule. The produced vehicles are delivered to the customer after testing by the representatives of the ministry, Paramount Group and Armed Forces.

Besides, the negotiations are continuing towards receipt of order on delivering the abovementioned vehicles to separate organizations.

“Matador” can carry 14 (12+2), “Marauder” 10 (8+2) personnel. Their explosion resistance is 21 kg TNT and 14 kg TNT. These combat vehicles can protect the personnel from 7.62 mm ammo. “Matador” meets standards of STANAG 4569 Level 4a and STANAG 4569 Level 4b, “Marauder” meets standards of STANAG 4596 Level 3a and STANAG 4569 Level 3b. The MRAPs are armed with 14,5 and 12,7 caliber machine-gun.

Russia To Bolster Airborne Presence In Caucasus, Central Asia

Russia is planning to increase its presence of airborne troops in Central Asia and the Caucasus, a sign that Moscow sees a greater possibility of fighting in the region. The planned deployment was announced by Lieutenant General Vladimir Shamanov, the commander of the airborne troops, and reported by Nezavisimaya Gazeta (in a report translated into English by RIA Novosti):

Russian military bases in Central Asia and the Caucasus are to be considerably strengthened. They might be reinforced by units of the national Airborne Force to increase mobility and combat efficiency, said the force’s commander.

Airborne forces (i.e., those that parachute into action) are fairly elite units, and suggest a more active role for the Russian military than would the current Russian troops in Armenia and Tajikistan, which are mostly infantry.

Shamanov didn't provide many details of the proposed reinforcements, but said that they were required both by the necessity to "successfully accomplish the objectives set by Russia’s leaders" as well as to strengthen Russia's "international commitments" to the Collective Security Treaty Organization. (Those commitments, it should be noted, are largely self-imposed by Russia without much apparent enthusiasm from other CSTO members and are themselves an instrument of accomplishing the objectives of Russia's leaders.)

The report notes that Russian airborne troops were deployed to Kyrgyzstan during the recent unrest, to Tajikistan during CSTO exercises last year and are scheduled to be sent to Armenia for CSTO exercises later this year. "But it is unclear whether airborne units will remain there on a permanent basis," NG adds.

This follows Shamanov's announcement in March that Russia would add a helicopter regiment to a base in Novorossiysk, the base of the airborne troops that operate in the Caucasus, citing the increasing instability in Abkhazia and South Ossetia. This, naturally, provoked a complaint from Georgia:

This further step by Russia is an open and undisguised threat against Georgian sovereignty and leaves no doubt as to the target of this aggressive move by the Russian Federation. It is obvious that Russia is continuing to pursue a policy of aggression aimed at the destruction of Georgian statehood and at the elimination of Georgia's peaceful population.

It'll be interesting to see what Armenia, Tajikistan (and perhaps Kyrgyzstan) say about the potential deployment of these troops on their soil. But this suggests that Russia remains serious about building up its military influence in the region ahead of the planned NATO pullout from Afghanistan.
