Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

A bloody incident that took place in the Azerbaijani army on February 20 was the violence of a sexual nature. Recall that the Azerbaijani soldier shot the fellow with a machine gun, then killed himself. Total killed seven people.

According to our reliable sources, who shot his co-workers repeatedly sexually abused by them, which led to the tragic outcome for both offenders and for their sacrifices.

Note that the rape in the Azerbaijani army had already led to armed incidents, and the courts of the Azerbaijani army, raping co-workers are not uncommon.

Adjudication on the most high-profile such case was passed on June 7 this year. Azerbaijani servicemen Emin Bagirov Togrul Rahimov and were sentenced to life imprisonment, and Yusif Yusifov - 15 years' imprisonment. They were accused of rape 28 regular soldiers of his platoon commanders, and killing, which began an investigation of their crimes. Azerbaijani soldiers were killed by platoon commander Lieutenant Tagiyev, and his deputy, Lieutenant Emrahov.

This happens in all militaries. No exceptions. To pretend it doesn't happen is like pretending the sun doesn't set in the west.
Military is like a prison. No women around, and some people will do anything to satisfy their urges.
This exactly why the mafia doesn't punish their own men who get raped in prison. You get a pass for that. but if you're seen in a gay night club, you're dead meat.

We should have a para-military force (Karabakh Liberation Army) that is a volunteer force of soldiers that get paid, but are very skilled and highly trained. It would have high tech weapons from various sources and would actively recruit Armenians from diaspora, and even willing foreigners.

The People's Assembly of the Azerbaijani Republic approved a same-sex marriage law today, angering such opponents as the Azerbaijan Chatolic Association, which denounced the measure as "unjust." Azerbaijan's action follows similar moves by Armenia, where civil-union has been legal for some time. ...

People with way too much time on their hands!
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

We need our lobby in Russia doing all it can to persuade Russia to cut military ties with Azerbaijan. We need Russia solely arming us.

Azeris pay with hard cash for their military expenditure, best form of doing business.
There is no shortage of arms suppliers these days in the open or unofficial markets.

If Russia boycotts selling arms to one of its “regular” customers there would be ten suppliers trying to fill the gap.
Therefore end result of your suggestion will not be achieved.

By supplying arms to Azerbaijan, Russia can maintain good links with the Azeri defence establishment.
It can have a good feel of the Azeri capabilities by knowing their purchases first hand.
Russia can maintain itself as an honest broker in all diplomatic developments, unlike say Turkey.
Worse of all it it would be like pushing Azerbaijan to be under the umbrella of another power (Turkey, US?).

Under the circumstances its best to try to live with present realities and concentrate on own defence to counter any new threats.

Mos, that is a great idea but it takes organization and lots of money to setup. There are many Armenians who do have military background from the respective country they live in that must be reached including logistic and support volunteers in none combat fields.

As far as weapons that would be very difficult (plus there will be lots of weapons on the battlefield) and such organization must have legality behind it with cooperation with Armenia’s Military of Defence, be able to travel to different countries to enter Armenia (Spetanakert) if war breaks out.
I would think you will need a couple of ex-military officers and a few patriotic Armenian businessmen to work in conjunction once it is determined that there is a big enough pool of volunteers to setup a small force like that. Training can come later including background security checks on each volunteer (which they themselves may have to pay for, including travel).

You are aware that the US and Turkey are spending hundreds of millions modernizing Azeri airfields with state of the art installations from advanced traffic control systems to runway precision lighting approach system and navigational facilities. Also they are setting up a advanced control and command center for Azeri Airforce and radar stations off the Caspian and Iranian border. Aliyev wants more radars pointed at Armenia but that hasn’t happened yet. US is also training Azeri soldiers supposedly for tours in Afghanistan but Aliyev wants to keep them in Azerbaijan after training….all of this while Russia gives them another 24 combat helicopters (Azerbaijan must hold the record now if this is true for number of Mi-24s).
