Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Newspaper: Armenia to receive tactical ballistic missile systems from Russia

YEREVAN. – The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia (RA) on Thursday will convene a special session, during which it will discuss the agreement signed between the governments of Armenia and Russia, and with respect to Russia’s providing a soft loan of US$200 million to Armenia and wherewith Russia will supply modern weapons to the RA Armed Forces, reported Zhamanak daily.

“According to our source close to the RPA [i.e. the ruling Republican Party of Armenia], within the framework of this amount, the RA could receive the well-known Iskander-M operational tactical [ballistic] missile systems, which are considered one of the best developments of the Russian missile building and it has a quite high technical characteristics.

“There may be several explanations as to why the Russians would want the RA to be armed with the Iskander-M systems,” wrote Zhamanak.

It could be even 500 million, doesn't change my point.

The reaction is also illogical for the reason that Azerbaijan is also going to make arms acquisitions at the same time, on top of previous ones for the past few years. My point is, you could say that this would perhaps add some capabilities to Armenian army, but to talk of it in such way as if it's going to "balance the forces", that's where it becomes a bit illogical.

But like said this is the purpose of all this, it doesn't matter if it's enough or not.
Just curious if the iskander purchase is true could u show me what you guys can buy to counter it?
And again we pay however much it costs to produce the systems or arms. Lets presume it's a half billion dollar purchase. Thats equal to about a billion dollar purchase if u guys were buying. Add our topographical advantage it's not like this is insignificant. Also it not hard to save money over time. 60 mil over 5 years would be 300mil. Not impossible.

Lol so you're saying because im not accepting your opinion that the purchase is insignificant, im automatically being unreasonable.
How bout this, lets just accept that you think the purchase is insignificant and that i think it's significant. Salam

And you guys don't seem grasp the limitations of the amount mentioned, it would be good for parade purposes perhaps.

This is a milestone for our military, from this point forward only money is the limitation from obtaining more of these modern weapons.

These agreements for discounted weapons have been around for years. Money has always been the limitation on purchasing more equipment and weapons. What we need is more money coming into the government and no "leakage".(less leakage)

Also reduced prices doesn't exactly mean half the price, perhaps one could speculate a one-third reduction.
Im not sure how much you think the iskander costs but i dont think it would cost more than 75 mil for 4 launchers, ammo and other related equipment. Looking at some internet info some people say it costs a million for each missile. Couldn't imagine each launcher with ammo costing more than 20 mil each. And 4 lanchers would mean 8 missile salvos. Enough to go after azeri ABM radars.

I agree tho the amount being spent is small on the world scale. Don't mater to me. If the iskandars have been bought you can count on azeri radars being targeted. If they get taken out how do you stop the scuds? The iskandar system could affect the balance.

We understand the simple arithmetic you've displayed to us. Let's see if I got everything you said ... Tatar turcs buy much more weapons so their going to win. I think everyone got it.
Your majority in weapons/troops last time didn't work and it ain't gonna work this time.
You can keep talking and buying more weapons.
We are ready now and are becoming more capable by the day.
You came to the region you occupy as murderers and thieves, and if you start another war, we are going to kill you for that.
