Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

However one has to ask will they stand against the Kornet anti tank considering that the Azeri are supplied with such weapons.

Put it another way with the upgrade will they stand to more punishment than the Abrams tank

      Thank you for the clarification.

However my question becomes more relevant.
Will the new upgrades withstand at least second tier ATGM with reference to the Kornet at least, as within Azeri weaponry?

      .
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong

            Good to hear that.

My question was the other way round specially after the upgrades.

They do not have to live with the consequences of their actions, it is not their sons who are dying on a weekly bases from sniper fire as providing for their families becomes increasingly difficult. Over 90% of those "nationalistic" diasporans would feel exactly the same way as the hayastantsis if they had to live under the same conditions. Most diasporans love their homeland so much that they only visit it once they retire(if that). How can you be proud when all you hear is how corrupt everything is, when you are in a constant state of war, blockade, foreighn influence, unable to find work and sustain your family.. Diasporans are more nationalistic because talk is cheap.
I think there nationalism is equal in diasporans and homelanders. It's just manifesting in diffrent in each. I agree with Haykakan about armchair effect. But also one has to see that people in Armenia have the realistic patriotism. Real, because like Haykakan said, everything affects their lives.
Do not mix the legacy of soviet corruption and some low quality masses in there with lack of patriotism. Do you forget how in April war the people were volunteering with song and dance to go to war for homeland? Have you seen it anywhere else?
Bottom line... anybody living in homeland cannot be called unpatriotic, while any diasporan, including me, will be called 100% patriot only when moving back to live in Armenia.
While living in diaspora, our patriotism is as flawed or incomplete as homelander's is from corruption or low cyvility.
Remember, if we concider our selfs as having the same genes, then we have to accept that diffrences we have amongst our selfs comes from diffrent environments we live. But we are the same.
That low quality Armenian you see in a village in Armenia, that is selling his vote, or ready to steal or bribe is the son of one brother that came from western Armenia. While the son of the other brother did not emigrate to Armenia in 1915-50s, but went to Lebanon or France, got rich with hard work and had the opportunity to educate his children with high nationalistic morals.
While the son of first brother was sent to Siberia for just uttering the name "Andranik Ozanian" in 1925-30s. Was sent to war front in 1941 to fight and die in cold, north steps under mind blowing Stalinist fear propaganda. Came back only 7 years later to find his family starving and in rags, because of war efforts. Worked hard, but was paid only change by soviet government that jailed any enterprising hardworking individual for forbidden "illegal trade or manufacture", but allowed corruption in all levels of government.
Saw his children being brainwashed with soviet international brotherhood and had to teach them about genocide or real national heroes, being in fear all the time that one day some new Stalin might return.
But then, after all this, he stood up, fought with his life and liberated part of homeland.
Liberated for all Armenians, living anywhere on this planet.
But everybody excuse me if I said, all this time the diasporan brother only dreamt of Armenia, and however sweet that dram was, showed only meager participation for war in homeland. He sent money, but never matching his dreams or rethoric for all the decades after genocide.
His patriotism was good for keeping himself as Armenian in foreign lands, for which he deserves credit, but never enough to put himself on a harms way, or loose comfortable life for moving back to Armenia.
When we say "diasporans do not go back to Armenia because of corruption of locals" we look only one side of the problem.
As much as homelander's corruption is at fault, equally, patriotic deficit in diaspora that cannot resolve to move to Armenia.
Economic conditions are very trivial here. Our grandfathers established themselfs in all the countries under worse conditions.
If we talk about patriotism, diasporan has to accept equal sufffering with an Armenian citizen in order to compare himself to them.
If we wait for homelander's to change with generations, it may be too late.
Only way for homeland people to change is if large numbers of diasporans move in and mix their combined character to locals. Like they did in 1940s 50s, 60s. Injecting culture, values, arts and craft into Armenia.
Something has to be changed. Some conditions have to be created so we move back in mass. We have responcibiliry equal to anybody in Armenia.
There is no day that goes without me thinking of possible roads.

Only a month ago most of you were bashing Russia and today your licking there toes. When Armenia decides to start working as there are plenty of jobs here then maybe they can become great , but until then the people are lazy . No one gets nowhere without working hard.
Yes I complain because most diasporans do not look at Armenia as their homeland, they care not about nation building, hell most do not even visit. I never bashed Russia neither did I lick her toes. I did however present a very realistic view of the situations faced by Armenia. Most people do not like reality so they try to pretend that they live in a alternative universe.

Azerbaijan buys T-90s: "Damn, they got T-90s, that's like very advanced to what we got. Karabakh is lost already!""These Russians are no allies, they stabbed us in the back." (No mention of Armenian ATGMs)

Armenia upgrades T-72s to B4 standard locally (on par with Azeri T-90s if not better): "Damn, can that thing stand Azeri ATGMs?" (No mention of tank warfare tactics, scout teams to detect hostile ATGM teams, the capability of the tank itself, the quantity of the tanks being upgraded etc.. etc..)

                      ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
