Have you seen his shop? A one room with 1950's milling machines. I am not sure which machine is going to receive the CAD instructions.
Also, he is not doing anything special locally other than cleaning old stocks and placing some modern imported commodity parts.
It is very tough business to be in the arms industry. Most are commodity that no one could compete or make and money.

The guy was talking about getting CNC machinery.
when they get them, which is the easiest part, the next headache is going to be finding someone that cans make computer drawings (my job) and programmer to write the program.
There is no other way to modernize.
I saw him making barrels and installing on receivers. Gunsmithing or manufacturing wise that is the hardest part in armoring, and from what I saw, they are doing very good job.
Technically they have gone 3 times further than anybody in their condition can do.
For large and precise manufacturing machinery has almost nothing to do with arms. It’s just machinery.
They are making their own barrels and fitting, that is the heart of rifle making. The rest, fancy stocks, guards, components are simple and easier to achieve.
Before we talk about Sako or Barrett type rifles, just modernizing our SVD class rifles on a large scale will be awesome.
