Azeris have the real lack of probability to win, based on past wars and conflicts with us.
By initiating terror and pressure on frontline they try to gain that higher probability of win, while we loose it further.
By doing nothing we guarantee bigger and heavier conflicts with azeris.
The only way is to respond with heavy and inequal actions every time azeris kill one of our own.
like destroying their position line with heavy bombardment or taking over that position in an opportune moment. It will not lead to war, on the contrary, it would lower the probability.
If azeris knew they could win war, they would start one regardless of our responce.
By escalating we make it costly for enemy and drop their will for further killings.
like next time they hit our villages in Tavush, we should take their positions.
By doing nothing we gain international name of weak idiots not respect.
I don't say we should do nothing. I tried to explain why we don't go further like you and some other guys demanded. Probably it's not correct to talk about probabilities of winnig in a full scale war because that depends on many aspects. But the main problem I want to underline is the extreme limitation of our resources. You can't answer adequate (=inequal) if you don't have the resources to play this game consequently until the end. Of course our soldiers can destroy some positions but we don't have the possibility to answer like this every time. If the tensions go to the next level (more intense breaks of the ceasefire or short wars like in April) we will have problems regarding our resources. That's exactly what the azeris want. They give a f*** about their soldiers or their effectiveness. Holding the fragile balance that exists today is in our favour as long as our general situation hasn't become better, especially regarding the demographic and economic situation.

          • This conflict is not going to end soon. We need to invest in large trench diggers and large corrugated pipe machine.
Dig large trenches 15’ x 15' (anti-tank & transports) behind our existing line. Install 8' tall corrugated pipe with watch stations capped with heavy concrete ends for monitoring and protection.
Use the trench excavated material to cover all of the pipeline.
Fill the trench with mines. Move out of all these old trenches to the new protective system.
This should created a very good economical long term protection. Send a signal to the azeris we are here to stay for good.
Two diggers and 10 tractors 30 million
            Pipe machine 4 million
Galvanized material per km gradual investment.
We should be able to have it done in 3 to 4 years.

            • Finland, with a population of 4.5million, was able to create a system of defense that would most likely stop a Soviet assault or bleed them dry. Armenia can do that with the Azeris.

The problem with Azerbaijan is that they have way more money than we do. Can Azerbaijan conquer Armenia? I mean, can the Americans conquer Iraq? Can the Soviets conquer Afghanistan? Does anyone believe any of that? Hardly.

The problem is that Azerbaijan has a lot of petrodollars that let's it buy obscene amounts of weapons, FOR CASH, that are delivered to it PROMPTLY, that allow it to outgun Armenia. Once the oil stops, the music stops.

              • What we have to do is build an economy. Pashinyan and the new government need to create some kind of mechanism, a stock market, an kickstarter, i don't know what exactly, that let's Diaspora Armenians invest in Armenia and make profit off of it.

Armenians globally can raise a $100mln a year, for a country like Armenia, that is enough to finance new IT companies, new Supply Chain companies, new Pharma companies. I truly believe by tapping into that, we can create something great in Armenia that will allow us in 5 years time to have a more resilient economy than Azerbaijan.

The problem we have is falling into trap of seing our survival or victory not in our selfs but in stupid fictionsl generated comparisons.
We did not stop in front of soviet might, did not stop after Russia gave that might to Baku.
We were fighting with shotguns against helicopters and tanks.
We now have modern weapons, but sit and beat our knees about stupid toys azeris poke into our eyes.
But fighters have allways been the same. In our case maybe much better.
This economy or better strength xxxx is being overrated many instances, shadowing our capability and allowing unnecesary losses.
Who says that first salvo we send to them, azeris are not going to run as allways?
Who says asery Mother’s and public are not going to cry and demand an end from their government?
By doing very little we allow Aliev to play “victories” and keep his power.
If we deny that to him, Azerbaijan will go into civil strife for long time.
People forget that azeris are not going to rebell and establish democracy or better stronger country like us or Georgia.
They most likely will go the way of libia or Iraq, long term chaos.
Dictatorship of Aliev being baijan’s strongest state the same way Kadaffi or Saddam were strongest points in those countries histories.
