Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

        Mass arrests registered in Nakhijevan
        11.01.2010 13:24 GMT+04:00

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Mass arrests and beatings are reported to take place in Benanyar village of Nakhijevan Autonomous Republic, Azerbaijan.

According to Azeri media reports, the situation escalated in December 2009, when two dozens of the village elders were arrested and tortured. On January 5, police cordoned off the village and arrested most of men there, Lenta.ru said.

The local authorities label the reports as ‘fiction’. Meanwhile, Nakhijevani outpost in Baku confirmed a conflict between the local law enforcers are villagers.

Nakhijevan is an autonomous republic within Azerbaijan, the homeland of the ruling Aliyev clan. An Armenian territory until 1923, Nakhijevan was transferred to Azerbaijan, whose leadership eliminated the Armenian historical and cultural heritage in the area.

Azerbaijani youth leave the country due to Aliyev's bellicose statements, ARP deputy says
ARP Dashnaktsutyun Party has “trustworthy” information over a great mass of Azerbaijani youth leaving the country, ARP member Vahan Hovhannisyan told a press conference today.

According to him, Azerbaijani youth leave for Russia and Ukraine and this is due to the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s and Defense Minister Safar Abiyev’s bellicose statements.

“Due to Aliyev’s and Abiyev’s bellicose statements, a group of Azerbaijani youth leave the country since during the war none wants to serve in an army where officers kill soldiers and vice versa,” ARP deputy said.

According to Hovhannisyan, Armenia and Azerbaijan face the hazard of resuming the war unless they reach a clear peace agreement.

            Azerbaijani flag burnt in Iran

February 18-19, protest actions were held in front of Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Tehran, Express newspaper reports. The picketers burnt an Azerbaijani flag, threw egg at the Embassy office and profanes state symbol. Meanwhile, according to the source, the Congress of World Azerbaijanis plans to hold a protest in front of Iranian Embassy in Baku.

This is not the first scandalous incident between the states. On the threshold of Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman’s visit to Baku, Iranian “Sahar” TV started broadcasting anti-Azerbaijani video clip. On the background of Palestinian children’s bodies, victims of Zionistic aggression, shots of Israeli and Azerbaijani officials’ meetings are shown in the video.

So are they protesting something in particular or just expressions of general and prolonged dislike?

Israel's foreign minister (hated by Iran and many others) was warmly greeted on his visit to Azerbaijan. Not the first time Iran gets pissed off about it, Israeli officials have been making frequent visits to Azerbaijan lately. Something is brewing and it does not seem to be in Armenia's or Iran's favour.

Armenia should immediately send their foreign minister Edward to Iran this week. It would be a strategic and symbolic move reminding the Iranians that while Israel is being friendly with neighbouring country Azerbaijan, Armenia will always value friendly relations with Iran.

Hmm... Thanks for the explanation. Any speculations about what it is that's brewing?

Do you think it could be possible that Israel and Azerbaijan are trying to get something going in the region? By which i mean an Israel attack on Iran using Azerbaijan and if the Azeris allow this Israel will help them with Armenia? Thats the first thing that came into my mind and im hoping its not right.

Israel is probably negotiations arms sales to Azerbaijan. They have supplied them with arms in the past (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMI_Tavor_TAR-21) and last I heard, they want to sell them unmanned drones (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elbit_Hermes_450) that can be used to spy on other countries i.e. Armenia.

As for Iran, Azerbaijan being a neighbouring country of Iran is strategic to Israel. It can use Azerbaijani territory for all kinds of operations such as spying on Iran, launch attacks etc.
